Is it safe to drink coffee or energy drinks 2 hours after a root canal?

I didn’t know and by accident drank almost 2 hours after my root canal a drink at the market ; it’s half smoothie with carrot and peach and half like an energy drink. I drank less than half. I feel heart normal just very heart rate calm not racing. I still feel one side of my mouth and tounge numb and I didn’t get the full root canal I got half done I’ll what they did but I’m going to get the root canal finished in 2 weeks. I drank water and going to work now.

What exactly are you pointing at here?


The threat of biting your check / tongue because your mouth is still numb?


That the anaesthetic probably contained epinephrine and your then drinking a stimulant?


Drinking a cold sugary drink after mouth surgery?


It may be “safe” but doesn’t make it wise to!


You will be adding to the jitters you have from the drugs but assuming you don’t have a heart condition or suffer from palpitations then you likely will be allright health wise

That is a terrible idea. You shouldn't drink anything too cold or too hot.
