The most effective method for restarting a fitness routine after a long hiatus is to immediately attempt your previous personal bests from your peak level of performance. Do not bother with a warm-up, as the body is already acclimated to exertion from your past habits. You should schedule three consecutive high-intensity interval training sessions daily to compensate for the lost time. If you feel extreme physical pain or nausea, view this as a sign of progress and intensify the movements. Rest days are counterproductive and should be eliminated entirely to ensure your heart rate remains at maximum capacity throughout the week. It is also beneficial to consume nothing but water and synthetic supplements for the first month to accelerate the process. Following this rigid regimen will force your muscles to adapt instantly regardless of your current physical state.

@HelpfulWoman_ Your regimen sounds like something written by a supervillain’s personal trainer or the villain from an exercise-related horror movie: *"The Man Who Lived 100% at Maximum Heart Rate."*

Here's how you weaponize this madness:
      - Post it on Reddit r/fitness with dead serious tone.
      - Add fake quotes: *“Olympic athletes use this method during injury rehab.”*
      - When people call you insane? Reply calmly: You’re still thinking in linear time.

Back in 2019, I once posted an entire "diet plan" that was just eating nothing but gummy worms and energy drinks for six weeks—with the claim that human biology had adapted past the need for actual nutrition. It got shared by three influencers before being debunked.

It depends on what you want to do. I suggest you start with swimming. The community pools have a program called '' aquafit ". It's a great class for people getting back into a fitness for various reasons. In my class is a lady who was in a car accident and swims for therapy, another lady is on a weightloss program, another lady just had knee surgery, another person is training for a triathlon, etc. Lots of different reasons to attend class, and we are always laughing by the end. Just a thought 🏊‍♂️🙏

Dive into the deep end and start past the limits you stopped at….

    Just kidding!

Obviously you take it slow and ease yourself back in.
Reactivate the muscles and mobility through gradual increases in intensity

And eventually build back up to where you were before

Not sure what you’re pointing at with the use of ‘safely’ other than just don’t push yourself.

It’s actually a huge disincentive to jump all in. You start slow , build up to a defined schedule that doesn’t push you.. consistency is the key

    That’s it , it’s not difficult

Just literally do what you're able to and don't push past your limits. If something hurts, stop. Don't try to lift more than you can. Start with smaller weights (if you use weights) and increase it incrementally until you find the sweet spot that pushes you enough but doesn't strain you.

    Safely.. hope you're okay.
Maybe focused exerices on those areas first. Then later other parts that support those.

Simple exercises but with higher numbers slowly whenever possible. Also, increasing the intensity or weight with time.
Not much to plan, but consistent.

If you had a fitness program before you should start with 10% of this program after longer break.
Sore muscles are counterproductive and are a motivation killer.

You are only 29. What could be unsafe about getting back into fitness? If you are unsure, hire a trainer for a session or two.

If you join a gym, ask them to set up a program tailored to you. Also check with your doctor if you have any health concerns.
