Can fatty liver and hypothyroidism be the reason I can’t lose weight?

I am 76kgs over 5'3.7 ft. I am obese and suffer from fatty liver. I cannot lose weight. I tried liver tonic over two years but wasn’t able to get any lower than 76... upon that I have hypothyroidism. I don't know how to deal with it.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver is a sign of too much sugar, so the "too much sugar" part can be keeping the weight on. Your triglycerides are also probably very high. These can be treated over time, but they will probably want you to cut your sugar down to almost nothing (not just "sugar" sugar, but all forms of sugar that is in all sorts of foods). Also fish oil, a very good fish oil such as certified wild caught Alaskan sockeye salmon oil, and other omega-3s, are very good for both fatty liver and high triglycerides, and for your health in general. They might want you to take up to 4 grams per day.

Make sure you talk to a doctor before changing anything, especially before changing anything dramatically. If there are other underlying conditions, it could cause problems and you want to make sure they have the whole picture.

Hyperthyroidism is very easily treated, so you should get that right away. Also have them check for diabetes or pre-diabetes, because that goes along with all of this. They probably will check for that anyway.

37 is the age where you have to start being aware of all these kinds of things. 37 is exactly middle-aged, based on life expectancy. Lucy Hale turned 37 today.

I'm not a doctor, but I suspect you hypothyroidism is the reason you have gained weight. The fatty liver disease could be the result of the weight gain. Get refered to a liver specialist. I have s friend. That had a fatty liver snd toxic fat around the belly and his organs and once they got his bile priducyion back up his weight started falling off and he lost 160 pounds or 73 kgs.

Go to the doctor. Cut out carbs, oils, and sugars. No white bread, no sweets, no white rice, potatoes (sweet potatoes are ok) no vegetable or especially seed oils (olive oil and avocado oil are ok), no alcohol, no fatty dairy, no cakes, no deep fried anything, no white flour, no white bread, no lard, no shortening. Eat mostly vegetables, beans, and lean meats. Fruit when you want something sweet.

Look into a GLP-1 as that could be covered by insurance if you are diabetic. That will reduce your cravings for food and the weight can come off.
