At 19, you shouldn't be getting bald patches, if that is the spot to which you refer. If your parents were short on hair, it could be a genetic tendency to Alopecia. In any event, a trip to the dermatologist is in order.

Side note: As a Massage Therapist, a provided a massage to each of two women with alopecia, one who just accepted it and another who was totally nutzoid about it. And in over 30 years of work, both occurred on the same week!!! weird

Don’t take peoples’ word for it as we’re not qualified to make those diagnosis, only your doctor can. It it’s possible it could be from stress. Have you been under a lot of stress? That’s one possibility. But there could be a lot of other possibilities. Go see your PCP, get a referral to a dermatologist unless you’re able to see one directly an out a referral.

It looks like alopecia areata, also known as spot baldness, but you should see a doctor to clarify.

Hard to tell from the photograph, but the best and safest thing you can do is to go to a dermatologist for that. All I see now, based on the photograph, is it looks like a spot that might be lacking some hair. The dermatologist will know for sure.
