Not as much as many people nowadays. If solid food (not greasy, liquid, or saucy food) falls on the floor, I'll pick it up, blow on it a couple times and still eat it.
I don't care to use hand sanitizer as much as most people do after every little public touch. I have a belief that if you can't eat it, you shouldn't be putting it on your skin.
I'll sometimes cut bread right on the kitchen counter before throwing it in the toaster oven, rather than putting it on a plate or cutting board. I'll sometimes rest any kind of solid food on the kitchen counter and eat it, like a muffin or a cookie.
I do get bothered when people double-dip in dip sauces like when we have nachos and salsa or guac, if someone double dips I give em a glare and I'll stop eating from it.
I'm okay sharing drinks with people, but if in my opinion they're obese, unattractive, or look unhygienic, I tend to not want to (obviously I don't say anything about it though). I also don't share drinks with people who I know are very open sexually. Don't want any herpes or anything, ya know? Same concept goes for sharing food. And I especially don't share food or drinks with others when they're sick.
2 at the most.
I avoid people who have contagious infections like colds and flu. But contact with a certain amount of germs actually helps the immune system stay on its toes. And certain bacteria are actually essential.
I have a very healthy immune system because I don't use antibacterial sanitizers or avoid touching every day things like door knobs, my cats, or shaking hands with people.
People weren't nearly as germaphobic before the covid hysteria. They weren't nearly as afraid of common infections before pharma started pushing more and more vaccines while promoting panic over barely dangerous infections, ignoring vaccine injuries, and scoffing at natural immunity.
I agree with you..
Right on, ElenaLena. 🙂 👍
I used to be, a bit, maybe that's because I was living with others that just didn't see things the way I did. For instance, they'd think nothing of taking the garbage out and not bothering to wash their hands afterwards. I'd even seen dad just wipe his hands in his pants and then go inside and sit on the couch for a while so, I spent most of my t. v. watching time lying on the floor.
WHO handles those garbage cans? GARBAGE MEN!! They handle your cans after hanging off a garbage truck that it TEEMING with germs of who knows what kind from the garbage of other people whose garbage they've also handled so, those germs get onto YOUR garbage cans and you go and handle them and get those germ on YOUR hands and bring them back into the house without washing them!! Disgusting!!
The weird thing is, it was my parents that TAUGHT ME to wash my hands after handling garbage or the toilet and then I eventually noticed that they DIDN'T!!
Totally understandable..
Probably at least an 8, lmao. I wash or sanitize my hands after touching ANYTHING used by more than just myself. I HATE being anywhere near sick people. I IMMEDIATELY go to the bathroom to wash my hands after our post-game handshake line when I play hockey. And I have three different UV light sterilizer boxes that I always run my phone, wallet, keys, etc through, near daily.
That’s too much 😄
Probably😅 But there’s just nothing I hate more than being sick, in terms of minor life problems. I’ll avoid that at any cost. Plus, I have asthma, so anything that messes with my breathing any further SUCKS
Definitely..
I don’t like touching a lot if public places just because I know how many hands touch them a day and how few are actually clean.
But I don’t have excessive issues with it.
Some dust or the occasional dirty dish that waits till morning are fine.
And anything out in nature is fine as well
Same here honestly.. the only difference is that I don’t leave dirty dishes overnight.. 😌😄
Well well now I feel so judged 🙃
Excuse me while I go do some dishes
No.. comeback.. I was joking 🥲
Since you asked so nicely I won’t leave you alone surrounded by all these germs 😏
😄😄
I never really thought about those checkout screens when I’m using them. I touch them, then I touch my phone. Eek. 😬 But what I always do when I get home is wash my hands. Always. And I try and not touch my lips.
I guess I’m cautious about germs but not much where I’m constantly freaking out about it. So many a 6 or 7.
Those touch screens are the dirtiest 😄
I guess I think of dirt in terms of stains and smell, almost never in terms of microscopic fauna, that's the extent of my phobia
I do know there are germs, good ones, bad ones etc but the thought of them just doesn't come to my mind easily. I might only think of that in very specific contexts, like at the hospital
Why don’t you talk to the administrator to see if you can move up on your moderator ship? You’ve been a moderator for many months now at that level
Your answers are always classy and because I finally can post gifs, this is for you 🙃
I don't know Iron_Man, administration recruited me for the m rank, I guess they'll also DM me if another rank is needed. I don't intend to ask for a change, I prefer going with the flow
Nice hat Elena 👌🏼
OK, my friend. Good luck to you on here with your moderator ship.
Yes I too am one lol
Like a shopping cart at the store you grab a hold of it your nose itches or something it's like you have to think about all that stuff
Then I also have to say that let's say that you're with somebody and you're doing things together and see that doesn't bother me and I'm kind of enjoy that myself but
So kind of depends on the scenario I'm going to say I'm a two to a 10 LOL it all just depends on who The Germ person is
See like with you it wouldn't bother me
My brother I don't want to touch anything that he touched lol
secretly, 10, i am very clean all the time, but i keep quiet about it, i'm not one of those people who annoys everyone with my cleanliness habits. i also understand you have to be exposed to a lot of different germs to have a strong immune system, so i don't obsess over it
I’ll tell everyone about you pink anon 😄😏
ehh like a 4. i only care when i hear about some big outbreak going on like with that
Cyclospora causing diarhea. i just avoid lettuce now until i hear its dealt with.
And during the pandemic i wore my mask dutifully with no complaints even though i didn't like it. otherwise its just one of those 'why sweat the small stuff' things to me.
That’s good 😄
I do use those purell bottles whenever i see them in public. Also pretty good about washing my hands.. maybe ill up my rating to a 5 instead lol
Mostly maybe a two. Once you have children and grandchildren germs are probably the last thing in the world you worry about cuz you pretty much going to get puked on shit on pissed on and God knows what else with children and what the hell they bring home
Yeah.. for that same reason I am a mild one because I have kids in my family (relatives).. and I like spending time with them 🙂
Understandable.
I've slept on the ground and eaten on the ground with no way to wash my hands. I've lived in the same clothes for 2 weeks. I've used water out of mudholes in equatorial environments with high tech filtration equipment and simple iodine drops as a decontaminant. I've worked in areas with cholera, dengue fever, malaria, Ebola, hemorrhagic fever, measles, polio, and I don't know what else. I've had so many vaccinations I literally lost track. I pretty sure I'm not a germaphobe.
Oh the scale. I'm a 1.
Because of my work (forensic scientist) it borders right at the very top of the scale.
However, I tend not to be so attentive outside of my working environment.
@ElenaLena or @EmmaMary - 👀
is that Tom Holland in the stock photo? 👀🤔
@browsingthroughthe I don’t think so
Ah😁 , I glanced it so quickly, silly me
I'm pretty tolerant of germs. The immune system actually needs some exposure to them. I'm not saying you shouldn't practice basic food hygiene.
But yeah, if you have a good immune system you're probably fine. If your immune system is compromised you're pretty much toast whatever you do.
Maybe a 2. I like to give my immune system practice, cuz practice makes perfect.
Agree 💯
I'm gonna say I'm pretty up there ⚖️🤣
But please no one compare me to DJT. Lol.
Look I just want clean hands and a nice smelling hygiene, nice smelling surroundings/home etc. I just like to be clean and healthy 😅🙃
I guess I'm a 9 or 10 out of 10
As I'm bipolar and my mind can be fickle probably between like 5 to 8 depending on the day. Large range I know. Though where I live and the hot and humid climate dirt can attract roaches and ants and other bugs.
I would rank pretty high... at least 8/10.
I knew it 😄
! or 2 i would eat stuff off the floor I dropped
Five second rule applies
@AngryCarl3 yup 😄
I honestly never cared about germs until COVID, COVID broke me
Covid broke us all..
Facts.
Not too much, I have the habit of washing my hands, before I touch any food, though.
I’d say a 1. I can’t be paranoid about it, I work in the medical field. Deal w it just about everyday. Flu, covid, MRSA, etc, etc, etc.
I am obsessive about washing my hands before eating.
Probably not enough. But for example i don't like drinking after people. And most the people i know have no problem with that. So i know i'm not that bad.
I wasn't until covid but now I kind of wipe things down a lot more now with some kind of cleaner for no real reason...
Probably a 2. I never have any problems, which tells me germaphobia is essentially a mental health problem.
Maybe a 2 or 3. I like my hands to be clean, I wipe down my phone and tablet often.
Maybe a five (5)
8/10 sometimes 9
What 😮
Especially washing hands, i wash my hand whenever i wanna do something, especially when it comes to food 🙂
I like everything to be clean...
five
