Projection is supposed to mean what a person says about others is just a reflection of how they feel about themself.
For example a person who doesn’t like their own physical appearance goes around insulting the physical appearance of others or a person who feels like they have failed in their own life might call another person a failure.

Donald Trump has been caught more than once sleeping during the day but Donald Trump still this year continues to call Joe Biden “sleepy joe.”
Sounds like projection to me.
Donald Trump also called the governor of Illinois fat.

I'm not sure I agree with your example. That seems more like action taken because of insecurity.
Projection is a result of two things: 1. Unless proven/hinted-at otherwise, we think others reason the way we do. And who we are informes how we perceive everything. 2. We often do not have evidence, or we believe the other party lies.
Projection often happens when people try to explain a social phenomenon, but they don't have statistics, or presume a lot of stuff. Someone, who's materialistic may assume your selfless action has an ulterior motif: 1. They see that being the case is was them, 2. It's hard to trust an internet stranger's word
The above case shows some obvious example, but people aren't always even aware of their biases.
Ps: Projection usually happens when there is limited knowledge, and distrust to one another
Yes. Trump does it regularly and so does a crabby pink account on here who lamely and unoriginally accuses you of being a spammer because you answered faster than "her" and "she" has become entitled to answer everything first like "she" has been doing all day, every day for about three years. "She" also accuses you of being a man because you pointed out "she" has to google basic female anatomy and then lashes out with middle school insults when you stop "her" from getting what "she" wants and is addicted to (xper bonuses). They're almost the exact same person and neithe realise their own lack of self-awareness when all their attempted insults are actually referring to themselves. It's baffling "she" doesn't love him.
projection is not only real, its the way you communicate because you are experiencing everything through your own views, so you can't see the world through the way i see it only the way you see it, so how you think of me is the way you view the way I am, not really how I am.
What do you mean?
It's fact that it happens. Some people do it almost continuously.
I'm sure there is plenty to be discussed about how it develops, what purpose it serves, outcomes it produces, yada yada. What is your question?
It’s real. It happens. Not all the time, but it happens.
Yes it's definitely real no spam no troll 🧌 but thanks Snow for the opinion :)
Yes, I believe projection is real. Sometimes people criticize others for things they’re struggling with themselves
Projection is real. However, so are observations.
Another great example is maga saying Biden destroyed the country while ignoring what Trump is doing.
Just watch Trump.
Duh.
