Did You Have Your Tonsils Removed, And Did Your Children Have Their Tonsils Removed Too?

At one time it was fashion to have your tonsils removed as a child, a bit like puberty and growing up.

Did you have your tonsils removed and was you given icecream afterwards?

Unfortunately I missed out on the icecream, but fortunately I kept my tonsils because they are there for a reason.

What is your opinion?

A. I had my tonsils removed when I was a child.
B. I had my tonsils removed when a child, and my children we both have had our tonsils removed.
C. I did not have my tonsils removed as a child.
D. I've never had my tonsils removed.
E. I had my tonsils removed when an adult.

My opinion is God created human beings, or human beings have had millions of years of evolution to bring us to the present day.

Either way who are we to say human parts are extra to requirements?

We should try to keep the parts we have intact and for as long as possible, because they are obviously there for a purpose.

In 1934 a study found 61% of 1000 schoolchildren in New York had already had their tonsils removed. In the 50s and 60s the surgery reached its peak, and in the late 70s mass removal of tonsils was being believed unnecessary, though even now 500,000 procedures are performed annually in the US.

From 2005 to 2016 fewer than 1 in 8 met the recommended criteria for a tonsil operation.
