When I lived in Africa, I did not know what a lactose intolerant meant, or what vegetarian or vegan or gluten intolerant meant. Is it weird?

Not weird at all. I think a lot of it depends on where you grew up and what kinds of food or health conversations were common around you. In some places, people simply do not use those labels because the foods are naturally part of everyday life and nobody thinks to define them that way. Once you move somewhere else, you suddenly realize there is a whole vocabulary around food that you never needed before. 😄

Not weird at all. The uneducated come from all walks of life. Some of the most uneducated people I have ever known are American.

WEIRD it is not, the rest of the world is WEIRD.
