I eat carbs every day! It's definitely a necessity. It's what give you energy, you don't want to burn muscle for energy! It really depends on where you're getting them from.
I've spent forever trying diets and workouts to get in shape and everything, and I can honestly say that just eating clean has been the best for me. By eating clean I just mean staying away from processed foods, junk food, stuff like that. I didn't believe it at first but the chemicals they put in that stuff can make you bloat and hold on to fat. After just a week of eating clean I noticed a huge difference in the way I felt and looked.
Eating clean isn't really just eating fruits, veggies, and meat. There's a lot more "clean" foods than you would think. My friend did a video on it that explains it a lot better than I ever could link
When I started off I wanted to get my family to do it too, and I ended up buying an eating guide, it's not really a diet, it's more of an adjustment to your eating habits. Just google Tone It Up! I love their website and the diet plan really keeps me on track and motivated. It's $150, and I had already heard about some of the stuff on there, but for me, I need a guide like that, I don't have the will power and patience to do it on my own haha. I must say I don't follow the plan as strictly as I could, I use it more as a guide. If I'm in a rush in the morning, I'm gonna grab some Honey Nut Cheerios, even if it isn't clean, and I'm gonna grab some bacon, even if it isn't the healthiest thing. If you restrict your self too much you'll just end up pigging out on it later, trust me! You just have to do it in moderation. Eat only when you're hungry, don't wait until you're starving though, it'll mess up your metabolism, drink lots of water (I add Chrystal Light) and eat more often, just smaller portions. That right there can make a big difference, and its also a big part of the Tone It Up guide. If you want more info on that just message me. I could go on and on about it haha.
Once I started eating clean I also noticed when I worked out, I could do more, and I felt like I was improver quicker too. One of my favorite parts is I get to eat more ;) I used to only eat like 1,200 calories a day, or just skipping a day of eating, and it really messed up my metabolism. I started gaining weight instead of losing. My workouts were pointless since I didn't have enough energy, my body was running off of energy by burning muscle, not fat, it just wasn't good. That's when I heard about clean eating. It's honestly changed my life, I don't consider it a diet, it's more of a way to just be healthy and treat yourself right.
I've been eating like this for about a month or two now, a long with working out, and I've gone from about 132 to 120. I'm 5"8'. I can give you an example of an diet/workout plan on another answer thing if you want! Sorry this is long and messy, I'm tired :P

Eating right and going to the gym has worked pretty well for me for the past 23 years...and I eat carbs everyday
You have to find meal combinations that you actually like.
Don't cut out carbs. or try to have a fat-free diet. Just eat sensible items and you will be fine. Frozen vegetables are probably the most crucial foods in your diet. They don't perish and they are easy to prepare. You will never have an excuse to not eat enough veggies. To top if off, they are cheap.
I've bought a few bags of mixed veggies, peas, and spinach. They cost about 9.4 cents per ounce which is dirt cheap. 3-4 bags will last you 2 months easily if not more.
Very simple, increase the ratio of vegetables to meat/ fatty food you eat. For the protein try eating more fish, less dark meat, and more nuts. Don't forget to eat protein or you will be tired all the time. If you start doing aerobic exercise even only a couple times a week this will help a lot. You may not lose weight crazy fast but you will get skinnier since the fat gets replaced with muscle. Most importantly you will become healthier and have more energy/ a better mood if you eat right.

I am working with a nutritionist who has me on 1,500 calories a day (Though I can eat all the veggies I want in between.) My meals are balanced. However, I do have a carb problem -- I know my body and carbs put weight on me so I had to take some carbs out of my meal plan and substitute some protein. It seems to be working. That plus a long walk = weight loss for me.
Cut out white flour carbs, most cheeses. Eat lean proteins and meats and fish, a few eggs. Avoid fat. Eat a lot more fruits and vegetables. In general try to eat more raw foods.
Well my girl was a few pounds overweight and she tried a lot of sh*t but when none of it worked I started letting her do everything in bed. I kind of just sat there and encouraged her for an hour. Yeah she's in super good shape now!
