Can doctors get your height wrong?

Question

can doctors get your height wrong ? My dad and my uncle and several of my friends are all 6'0 or above, and I'm taller then them, but when I go to the doctor he tells me I'm 5'11-6'0 ?

Well the nurse that measures me when I go to the doctor has measured me at 5'3" one year and then 5'3.5" another year and then 5'3" this year, but I'm 5'4" or maybe more. One time my doctor's office measured me at 5'2 1/3" and the hospital measured me at 5'3". Yeah, doctors can be wrong. My doctor said I was done growing, but I kept growing.

Your dad, uncle and friends are all probably lying about their height. Guys that are close to 6ft tend to round it up because it's an ego boost. I've had 2 boyfriends who were 5'11'' that would tell people they were 6ft.

Mine measured me wrong...well the nurse did. I have been the same height for 5 years...and then suddenly this summer I shrank and inch... -____-  those losers

Doctors can be more precise but it's up to you to not slouch.

Family members and friends tend to exaggerate their height slightly. For example, a guy might be 5'11'' but he knows it's far more attractive to say 6'0''. Women have an innate attraction to men who are 6'0'' or taller, even though the difference is negligible.

Anyone can be wrong on anything. This includes doctors. It also includes your father, uncle, and friends.

This seems to happen a lot with guys and height. I'm between 6' and 6'1". I have a lot of friends around my height who claim to be 6'3"-6'5". One (or more) of us is wrong.

Yes They Can Measure Height Wrong. Often Times The Height Scale Starts 2 to 3 Inches Off The Ground. So You'll Be Measured 2-3 Inches Shorter. I'm 6 Foot 5 And My Doctor Measured Me At 6'3''. I've Been 6 Foot 5 For Over A Year And When I Hang Out With My Friend Who Is 6 foot 3 There Is A Noticeable Difference of 2 Inches. Hope This Helps

time of day. you are shorter in the evening. so it is possible you are measuring your evening height with their morning height. depends when they went to the doctor.

Or try measuring in centimeters. :)

Yes! every time I go I get a different height. They tend to measure you in some sort of slouchy position.

It is possible they get it wrong but fairly unlikley. Maybe your friends just added a few inches to their actual height

Did he measure you? You might want to take a measuring stick and have someone measure you.

A person's height fluctuates for through the day. It's possible he was correct at that time.

Sure, it is possible. It's not too hard to measure your own height though to check. You dad an uncle may also of shrunk with old age.

I went to one doctor and they said i was almost 5’6 and my other doctor says i’m almost 5’8 but when i stand next to my friends who are around 5’7 there is a noticeable 2-3 inch difference
