It's very hard to choose a best answer here as I respect every-ones thoughts on the matter and I thank you all for your answer.


I have chosen that I would do it.


Parents who don't immunise their child don't do it because of the risks involved - they care about their kids.

Parents who do immunise their children do it because of the risk of death later on - again, they care too.

I will have to research more, but I have heard of some toxic ingrediants in those things, and horrible side effects... with things like the flu shot, I believe if you immune system is strong in the first place you have nothing to worry about...

I have also heard they may be responsible for the rising rates in autism... seems too risky... I rather just be as natural as possible, but we do live in an unnatural world... you can't keep your kid in a bubble either... sh*t I don't want kids! Science is taking over nature... like how we are putting pesticides INSIDE our food... nature has a way of balancing itself, the insects are doing their jobs, the world doesn't revovle around us humans..

I believe we have so many scary diseases because we are all one huge race now, this is also like food how we have "mono culture" One disease can wipe out an entire species... because they are so similar(The potato famine) We need diversity... Immunisation, to me, is just supporting human monoculture, of course we are too far in we can't change the past... it's just sad knowing the truth and knowing there's nothing you can do

I really do suggest you read the book Panic Virus, because it goes into discussion about the "vaccines cause autism" thing. It discusses REAL science as well as where the idea originated. Fantastic book. It also talks about vaccines in general as well as common misconceptions.

The autism - vaccine link was a fraud that was set up in hopes of suing the vaccine maker. Unfortunately the news that it was a fraud was spread far less effectively then the 'link' was. The people involved not only created panic about vaccines but also wasted a lot of money in autism research that could have been used better.

I've never been immunized, and I'm one of the healthiest people I know. My mom's a nurse, but she's done a lot of research and reading, and it's just what she felt was best. She's also big into the whole "natural" aproach. Hasn't killed me yet, and like I said, I'm a very healthy and strong individual.

I work at a hospital and I think it's selfish of parents not to immunize their kids. Polio isn't a concern anymore because we immunize. Rubella, strains of measles. In the end it's the parents choice, and I can't hate if they don't want to, but it's helped more than it hurt.

this is hard to answer, I would like to say yes but only if I could afford to travel to Germany in order to have it done but even then there are hmm.. risks.. having it done here tho is a really bad idea.

Why do you need to go to Germany to get it done?

they don't contain toxic levels of mercury like they do here, or so I read one upon a time. still lots of other potential issues tho. It's an interesting topic to learn about.

They don't use mercury in those anymore. The shots themselves didn't actually contain mercury but were stored with it. But they don't do that anymore.

Absolutely.

Many of the diseases we vaccinate against have the potential to be deadly, not just to the child who catches them, but to pregnant women, the elderly, and children who are too young or for health reasons cannot get the vaccine. Because herd immunity has diminished, anyone can get sick.

The result is death, serious injury,and illness from preventable disease. It just isn't worth the risk.

Just in the spirit of discussion, what about the risk involved with getting the immunization? Those exiat too, we just aren't as informed about them.

We actually are well informed. There are risks, just as with ANY medical treatment or anything we put into our bodies. However, the risk is so incredibly minute that it does not outweigh the benefits.

If another disease didn't exist that would severely endanger the child's life if he/she di receive the immunization, then absolutely. I'm slightly immunodeficient, so I would hope I'm immunized as much as I can be.

I would for most of the shots yes. There are a few that I would like to research a bit more but I want my child protected and the shots do work

Well there is no doubt that they do work. It is the very reason why some diseases, such as Polio, that our parents or grandparents were immunised for, are almost extinct today.

The good thing is that you want to research it first.

I of course know about the polio-there are some vaccines that I do worry about. There are rumors about the hpv vaccine being dangerous but I have not looked into it.

My sister got whooping cough in high school because someone didn't immunize their child. Not doing it puts your child and others at risk of contracting serious illnesses.

You are 100% correct, my friend. My cousin decided not to immunise her daughter (my reason for posting this question) which could potentially kill my immunosuppressed nephew if he ever caught anything off her. What happens to be a personal choice for one mum, could be a disastrous choice for someone else's child.

I have every single immunization vaccine because of where I work. It's mandatory to be completely immunized. Ehhhh.. I'm strong believe in the immune system and survival of the fittest. Do it if you have to, don't do it if you don't have to.. I feel.

I agree that the amount of immunizations at one time is a lot. I would get them immunized but I would space it out a bit.

He probably means that they are living a disease free life without being immunised because most of the population are immunised and disease free.

Exactly. If none of us got immunized we'd all be much worse off. But the odd person can take advantage of everyone else being immunized and receive full benefit risk free. In economic terms they are 'free riders' who get full benefit while contributing nothing.
