Will the biggest loser casting director let me be on the show?

I'm 5'8" 196 lbs I think I'm supposed to be 140-150 at my height. Well I figured they have personal trainers. And I have seen people lose a lot of weight on the show

You don't really have much to lose. The show mainly focuses on people who need to lose at least 100lbs.

I've had someone tell me that I should be on that show, but I'm kinda in the same boat as you. I'm 5'7" and 220lbs (large frame). Yea 220 sounds like a lot, but it's not on me. My boobs are huge :P And I carry the weight through my whole body. If I lost 20lbs the first week I'd be halfway there, in the first week! That wouldn't make for much of a show. They want people who are going to have to work really really hard. These are usually people who have terrible eating habits, and eat a lot and really bad foods. Then they throw them into healthy eating and intense exercise.

Without all this intensity the show wouldn't be as exciting.

These are also people who have been inactive for a long time. Plus the show is pretty dramatic. Who has time to work out 8 hours a day? Most people have to work for a living :P

I say just try to fit in at least an hour a day of decent exercise and you should see some results within a month. Add in some weight training and you will see results quicker.

The best thing to do is find something that you enjoy doing and something that you think will work for you. If you think nutrisystem is something you might like or can handle then I would give it a try. If you are doing something you don't like you won't stick to it and that is the key :)

I do not think so, you see the biggest loser is a show about losing weight but it dramatizes everything. They cast larger and sicker people because it gives the show high ratings, it's more entertaining to see a person, in the beginning be diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea etc and then in the end see them lose the weight and be healthy or for them being too overweight to conceive children and then losing enough weight to have kids. People that have been on the show would say that your weight is their goal, no one is that small until closer to the finale. You can always try, but casting directors are looking for contestants that can keep up ratings.

I agree its all for the drama of it. People lose that much weight all the time.

From what little I have seen of the show they want someone to lose more weight that that. It seems that they aim for 80+ lbs. I know that seems like a lot of weight, but it really isn't a few years ago I lost 80 lbs in a year just by exercising 5 times a week and eating right and cutting out the junk except for the occasional treat.

That show usually wants people who are extremely overweight or obese.

Seing how you aren't that overweight, chances are they will not put you on the show.

Eh maybe if you have a gimmick like your mom is fat too or your fiancé/BFF that kinda thing.
