Why do girls do this? and girls? why would you do this?

A girl in my once a week college class stares at me but when I make eye contact with her, she would hold the contact for a sec or two then look away(this happened throughout the two hour long class). Also, I noticed her feet were always pointed towards me even when her torso was facing somewhere else. So, I took the initiative to say hi to her, she just forced a smile but didn't reply. I figured it's either she's into me or terrified of me. What do you guys think? I'm confused.

It really depends. Look at her face, does she look bored out of her wits? Perhaps she is just staring into nothing. I do that often and sometimes the same person is in my line because I naturally tilt that way when bored. Try moving to a different seat and see if her line of vision stays with the old seat or new seat. If its with your new seat then you may have a chance.

Did you say hi during class? A lot of people won't respond during class. She might also just be shy. She's not terrified...I wouldn't look at someone I was terrified of. lol

Then she probably likes you or wants to get to know you. Perhaps she is just checking you out without wanting more. A simple "hi" isn't enough for a conversation. She smiled which kind of says, "you may hope." So maybe you should try sitting next to her, ask her name, or talk about the class to start with.

Say hi, introduce yourself, start talking about the class maybe, just to open things up and relax her. Get a conversation going. If she acts shy, be flirty, lean in and hold eye contact and smile, you know how to do it :-)

so you said hi and nothing else? did you introduce yourself? did you talk about the class? seems like you didn't try after the hi and got nervous and walked away adleast that's what I got from your description... not much to go on but it seems there could be something if she keeps eye contact after staring at you or maybe she thinks your a interesting person... its hard to tell what women are thinking...
