No I don't care. My boyfriend played baseball all throughout high school and he always wore a cup. One guy on his team never did and during a game (his position was right field) it was a ground ball and the dude was trying to get it, he kneeled down to attempt to scoop it up, the ball bounced under his glove and hit him in the crotch.

I felt embarrassed FOR him. Everyone saw and he just layed there for a while causing the other team to score a run. My boyfriend played left field, I'm glad he wanted to protect his "assets", it's important to me too. Lol

The way I see it is that it's just a necessity for sports. I wouldn't see it as wimpy. Even the professionals have a cup I would imagine. And really, is your fear of appearing less masculine really bigger than the possibility that you could seriously injure yourself and lose any chance of having kids in the future? Any girl who says its wimpy should have someone throw a ball at their crotch w/o protection and see how it feels. We may not have the junk there but you can bet it will still hurt and will make them appreciate its functionality a lot more.

I decided to start wearing a cup in football after a lineman drill when I accidentally went too low (in my defense, he was way too high) and caught another player's family jewels with the top of my helmet. The agony and his writhing in pain convinced me to wear the cup from then on.

I am in my 6th year of Karate and trust me, guys need to wear cups to protect the most sensitive area on any guy..
They even put extra padding in them I'm told.
Cups are mandatory during tournaments, but not necessarily during sparring.
I've ball kicked guys by accident during sparring.
It happens often.
More than any other sport..
It is not pretty.
Some girls think it's funny how vulnerable they are there.
I don't.
The guy could end up in the hospital.
I've seen that.
So please wear one if you play sports.
Girls will only make fun of you if you don't wear one.

On my softball team, cups were mandatory but there was one girl who thought she was too tough for a cup. One time, the ball bounced off the ground and hit her in the crotch. She instantly just dropped to the ground and started vomiting so, so much. She ended up soiling herself as well, and had to be carried off the field. Everyone saw it, boys included. We all mocked her for it too. She whined that any of the girls would’ve reacted the same way if we had been hit there, but I pointed out to her that it wasn’t true. We were all smart enough to admit that we have this debilitating weak spot and took action to cover it. She couldn’t admit her weak spot, and suffered as a result. It was probably really embarrassing, but I would never judge someone for wearing a cup. Only for not wearing one.

Lol nah, that's outdated. There's better equipment out there nowadays, why not use it? I really honestly don't expect my boyfriend to "take it like a man". I mean, he's been hit on his shin at full speed by a hockey puck last winter and the wound still remains to this day. Every time I see it, I feel a little sad that he's been hurt. Lol for the down vote. Expect? No, but I'd understand. I would've think he's staging it if I hadn't been intimate with a guy before. But as I said, I know from experience that just touching the area too vigorously can be uncomfortable and even hurtful. So given that the ball is thrown at full speed, it might make quite a strong impact. Females can't relate to such a harsh, sudden pain because our boobs and crotch aren't nearly as sensitive, no matter what some say.

Not really, girls tend to look at guys butts. As to wearing a cup, it depends on your position in the field. If you play outfield or pitch don't wear one. If you're a catcher or infielder wear one. I played baseball all my life and girls like to look at your ass. They don't care if you wear a cup, I only wore a cup when I played catcher and I never got hit in the balls

So, if a guy fell down, I'd assume it hit him hard and in a way that caused a lot pain...
