How long to you hold eye contact?

I am wondering how most people deal with eye contact.

Hardly make eye contact, I am bad at that for some reason

Glance at their eyes for less than 5 seconds and then focus on something else, repeat

Look for 5-10 second and look away, repeat

Look for 10-20 seconds and look away

Stare into their eyes and don't let go until something else grabs my attention

I went with B, but it really depends.

When I'm talking to someone like my friends or family I usually look at them the whole time, or I might look off to side for a moment.

If I'm looking at a guy I like, and it seems llike he doesn't know I exist/I'm not sure if he's into me. It really depends. If I'm in classand he can't see me I might daze off and look at him for a long time. If I'm passing him/ bump into him I'll look at him at first then look down or too the side.

I'm also a day dreamer I could be looking right through someone and just stareuntil they realize they really don't have my attention.

But, like you asked I tend to do B the most. Its kind of hard to look at someones face tor eyes the whole time.

I've never actually counted the seconds I've held eye contact.

But I do it for a reasonable amount of time and then I look away.

If you do it too long you'd be considered weird or creepy.

If you do it too short it'd be considered rude or like you're hiding something.

If I had to guess I'd say probably about 6 seconds.

I look away or down then I regain eye contact for a little while again.

Idk... I don't time myself. I used to be horrible at holding eye-contact with pretty much anyone. Now, it doesn't matter to me.

I've noticed the only time I look away sooner is if I can tell through her eyes that she is attracted to me and I have no interest. I'm talking about when you happen to make incidental eyes, then she looks back quickly with wide eyes and slightly opened mouth.

I'm a huge ass introvert; but whenever I see a girl looking at me in school then I hold it until they look away or I really have to look away. But saying something to them is totally out of my league :(

When I'm in a deep conversation which is often it is very long but sometimes if I don't know the person or I'm crushing on someone then its very short and not often. If its business its a firm eye contact but not weirdly intense. Family and friends well you know if more comfortable sometimes its full eye contact or none. lol Like those moments when you are right in front of each other during a chat or just chatting away while on a device or something else.

Eye contact is a very important part of a first impression and good communication skills. Eyes contact should be used when you are talking to someone to show your interest and that you are listening. Do be creepy about it and just stare actually focus on what the person says

Depends.. Like if it's a guy who like me, then I do C.

But most of the time I always catch guys staring at me. And when I look at them, they keep staring for like 5-10 seconds, until I finally look away. But I always catch them again after I looked away :-)

I don't stare into people's eyes. Longstanding habit from my "Ashamed of Myself" days. I actually tend to look down when talking to people.
