Does septum tissue and nose tissue repair/regenerate itself?

I used to snort a lot of xanax like every day last year and I recently fellinto a cocaine habit. The other day I noticed the middle part of my nose that had a dip/dent in it like all the snorting had started to weather/eat away at the tissue. I don't have a hole in the middle of my nose yet but it does seem to be thinner than it used to be. I was just wondering, if I stop snorting for a while will my nose heal itself and grow the tissue back? How long will it take to completely heal/grow back?

I already know everything you're telling me so please don't try to scare me with "drugs are bad" or tell me to stop because I'm going to. I know it makes a hole and everything else but all I want to know is if it fixes itself and how long it takes.

No it won't.

At this point you will probably still need re-constructive surgery, if you continue your habit your septum will collapse and the structure of your nose will be weakened, and you will definitely need to get it fixed. Think about it this way, if I cut a finger off, will it grow back? No.

I find it odd that so many people are like "Go get help, this is ruining you, etc etc" and yet when someone kills themselves slowly with food all people say is "You should love yourself for who you are!"

no it doesn't, cocaine users eventually get nose collapses from this because the tissue is eaten away completely. its permanent and youd need surgery when it gets worse

@update, the holes never grow back. if you google cocaine septum perforation a bunch of plastic surgery advice websites come up advising people in a similar situation that the only way to fix it is by putting a metal plate in if the hole is small, if its too big there's nothing they can do to fix it as itll never grow back. not trying to scare as its your choice what you do

What if I don't have any holes though? My septum feels like it got thinner but there's no holes.

no it wont, once its dead it won't regrow itll just heal any scabs where the skin is broken but it won't thicken back out

Thank you. I also have a friend who used to snort coke and she says she actually got a hole in her nose but it healed. You and everyone else say that holes don't heal, which is what I've heard as well. I was just curious why would she say/think that her hole healed and closed back up? She told me it was just a little hole, but still a hole. I have another friend who snorted pills and says the septum scabs and thickens back out, why would she say/think that this happens?

either she didn't really have a hole and it was just the lighting or the way she angled her face to see it or she's lying about it, actual surgeons and doctors all say holes don't grow back and its all over the internet so its not like were making it up here

Honey, please just try to find some help now. My brother was a long term drug addict, it really took a toll on my relationship with him, his best friend's relationship with him. His marriage. His children.

The longer you do that stuff the worse it is going to get. Also usually you need medical support to stop addictions.

Maybe go to rehab and try quitting the drugs and let your nose heal? That's the only thing I can tell ya. I don't think itll heal up completely but at least try to get off the drugs.

I don't believe it does without some surgery. That's why people that snort have nose/breathing issues.

It will never fix itself. You can have skin grafted and have it surgically fixed.

@update, well maybe you should go back to school. we are not salamanders we don't regenerate, we get cut we scar, snort a bunch of crap it will make a hole in your nose which won't grow back. don't believe me ask a doctor hell tell you the same
