Woman Nearly Dies After Wearing High-Waist Shorts For 8 Hours & Getting A Wedgie Because Of It

A woman revealed that she almost died after wearing high-waisted shorts for eight hours. This woman named Sam, from North Carolina, USA ended up in a life-threatening situation after wearing tight denim shorts on a date with her boyfriend.

The date, which was three years ago, lasted eight hours, and while the shorts were "uncomfortable", she told Buzzfeed, she "chose to ignore it and just enjoy my time."

The following day, the 25-year-old recalled feeling very ill and sore when she noticed a lump where the chafing had been, which, as time went on, became incredibly sore. So, she went to the doctor who prescribed her antibiotics for a skin infection.

But the morning after receiving the medication, Sam went into what she later learned was a septic shock after getting cellulitis - a deep infection of the skin - and was rushed to hospital where she was told she might have to undergo an operation to remove the infection.

"After a few days, started to feel sick and went to the doctor. They give me antibiotics for a possible 'skin infection' in my a** crack. The next day, feeling awful. I can't walk so I go to the ER and insist I'm in the worst stabbing pain. Gets admitted to the ICU and the doc says I have sepsis and cellulitis.

She then added, "Spends a week in ICU. Doctors tell me they may need to cut off (I don't know medical terms) the part of my a** that is infected. Constantly having to show my a** to doctors every day. After that, she mentioned that thankfully she didn't have to go through surgery after a lot of to and fro.

Sam added, "Unfortunately, the cellulitis came back a month later, and I had to go back to the ER only for a day, where they treated me with antibiotics."

There Was a Contest...

The James Dyson Award is an international design award that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of design engineers. It's open to design engineering students, and is run by the James Dyson Foundation, James Dyson’s charitable trust, as part of its mission to get young people excited about design engineering.

Rebecca Weiss, an industrial design graduate from the University of Munich, Germany, took the top prize and was given the award for her problem-solving idea.

Weiss invented the COSO, a never-seen-before male birth control device called a "testicle bath." Weiss developed the idea for her master's thesis.

She hopes the award will help her obtain funding to put the COSO through clinical trials.

Why?

• Condoms and a vasectomy are currently the only two contraceptives for men, while there are 12 tailored to women
• Although there's ongoing research into a pill for men, there is not one available yet.
• An alternative to condoms, and no one likes using condoms. Plus, they slip and can break

How it Works

• The device works by men placing their testicles into a small bowl-like gadget, which is filled with water
• It emits ultrasound waves to temporarily limit sperm production and mobility for up to two months
• Weiss says COSO is painless and temporary

Ultrasound Technology

• Used to reduce pain and speed up healing for deep tissue injuries
• Was first proposed as a contraceptive in the 1970s, and is thought to work by generating a deep heat in testicular tissue. This alters sperm mobility, which prevents them from being able to fertilize a female egg, and temporarily suppresses the creation of new sperm
