If you like canoeing you would like kayaking for sure. I have four kayaks all for different types of water. If you want to do flat water like large slow rivers and lakes, try a sea kayak.

If you want to try river kayaking then rent a river kayak.

I suggest you get a little bit of instruction before you go out and/or go with a group.

Sea Kayaks may have foot pegs which steer the rudder, you want to go left press down on the left rudder and keep paddling, you want to right push down on the right peg, really simple.

Some sea kayaks do not have rudders and rely on your paddling technique to turn.

River kayaks are very short and you are able to spin them on a dime.

I like the freedom of a kayak, bc you can explore anywhere shallow and you can manage it way more easily then going solo in a canoe.

I've always enjoyed it usually with friends, but be prepared for the aches and pains that will follow your first few times time out, your back, shoulders, arms will feel like they've been shredded.

its fun but tbh hard to control especially if you do it by your self. Honestly it might be easier for someone with strong energy but for me, its really difficult to move the paddle. But worth to try
