Is it silly to have FOMO about a game that I find impossible to understand?

My partner plays Magic: The Gathering, and is apart of social groups who play together. Im a little jealous and wish I could play the game too, but despite him repeatedly showing me how to play and guiding me through games, I cannot get my head around it. Just don’t have the brain power to play the game I guess. I feel like I’m missing out by not understanding the game.

That's cause you are missing out, Mtg is the best. I don't understand how people don't learn it if they try it's not a hard game. Reading the card explains the card apart from niche cases.

I don’t know why but I find it so hard to understand the cards. It’s like, I read the cards, I understand the words on the card individually, but when it’s all put together, it feels as if im reading another language and it just doesn’t compute.

It's easier as I grew up with it for sure.
But I don't know it's not that advance. Playing the online client Mtg arena should help one learn better, play against bot on it and it will help.

I've been with a couple girls and tried to teach them Mtg it went over their head too sadly.
Real rip cause it's a great way to have something in common.

aww damn. well i guess i would encourage you to just keep trying and eventually you'll get it. just watch how they do it. look at tutorials online. once you get it im sure you'll be real into it.

magic was the one game i myself never got into. it looks super cool and fun but my issue is money lol. i already spend a lot on my other hobby which is video games so spending it on another would be overkill.

I think it makes sense feeling FOMO for this. I don't know how to play magic either, but it seems really complicated. Maybe you can find some youtube videos? That's how I learned how to play the pokemon card game back in the day

I played this game with both my exes and won both times. I think that game is a game of luck and just making sure you ask the right questions.

It's not silly. You kinda want the social aspect of the game, but you don't like the gaming part of it. In college my friends played MTG and I tried too, but didn't like it, so can relate
