My mom said me and my dad are closet guys, because we were going to look at and photograph wildflowers 😂 And we like visiting botanical gardens.

I guess flowers are synonymous with romance and feminity, but I'm just interested in nature in general, and that includes botany. I like seeing and photographing different species, especially ones I haven't seen before, and marveling at the spectacle of wildflower blooms

It's not gay for a man to like flowers. It's gay if a guy wants to have sex with another guy. Not if he wants to look at (or photograph) flowers.

You're right, it's because flowers have always been heavily associated with femininity (you know... the whole "you vagina and/or virginity represented by in the delicate beauty of a flower" thing).

For people who think in a black-and-white way for a man to enjoy flowers is intrinsically a feminine trait. A feminine trait means a man is less masculine for having the trait. Less-masculine men are gay... because they aren't as manly as they should be. To me, that seems stupid. Because nobody is gay, again, unless the guy is into other guys... sexually.

So it's just a cultural social construct (albeit a widespread one) that flowers are intrinsically associated with femininity. That's gay.

But only because they kind of look like vulvas (some flowers look like some vulvas. Don't come for me)

Flowers were historically a male thing before too. Hop back to the romanticism. Men were viewed as the emotionally in tune who appreciated beauty and women as cold and logical. Flowers? Mostly a male thing.

Point? It shifts from time to time who is meant to like what. I struggle to see how it would be gay to appreciate beauty. Heck, most men like women and they are quite feminine looking too. I don't see the issue.

There are guys that appreciate the beauty of flowers and, sometimes, the scent of flowers.

They can spot a garden and say "Let's check it out."

Some simply just like the scent but don't have to hold the flowers close.

As long as they're not "goin' gaga" for the flowers, I find nothing gay about that.

I like the sensations of flowers and the appearance. The scent and attraction of them is always a positive that is innocent and worthy of appreciation.

I find the spring the most charming and inspiring time of year as the different blooms pop up at different times.

Flowers are colorful pretty and smell nice. What's wrong with liking them? How is being interested in botonny any different than being interested in trains or fishing? I personally like Lilacs. When I was a kid, my house had a big hedge of them in my backyards and they grew so think whenever the wind blew just right, I could smell them while I played with my Lego's in the yard.
