When was the last time you performed on school stage?

I have a music performance on Monday and me and this girl will be performing Vienna by Billy Joel. And I realised it's probably my last performance for school.

And it's weird too because I'll be singing with the other girl while she's playing the keyboard. Usually I play the keyboard because I'm really anxious about singing publicly but I always wanted to so maybe this is my chance. Actually I wanted to play the keyboard here again, desperately, but situations came and my keyboard adapter is damaged so I won't be able to practice hence she's picking up the role.

My performance went okay.
So my friend was supposed to play the keyboard and we were supposed to get keyboard from our school's piano lab but that room was locked and our piano sir who promised to be present that morning, was indeed not there.
Thankfully I got a pendrive with karoke.
And we also needed 2 mics but there was only 1. Our class teacher managed to arrange 2 of them thankfully.
But her soothing voice and my accent (if billy joel was a cowboy, slightly texan) went well for this

My last role in a school was a community college production of "Sweeney Todd" in which I played the role of the "hot blooded young sailor" Anthony Hope. Loved that show. Loads of dark humor and a great musical score. Other credits included the villain Jud Fry in "Oklahoma", The scoolmaster Mr. Lundie in "Brigadoon", Jules 6817 in "My Three Angels" and Cyrano de Bergerac in "Cyrano de Bergerac" with multiple other credits in pit orchestra and stage craft / crew. I was addicted to performance art for years and years, something about the adrenaline I think. How'd it go? The last performance went off without a hitch and felt awesome. There was an incident in "Oklahoma" where my character fired a pistol and the sound "from stage left" was about a second late arriving. Took everything I had not to bust out laughing, and was a major source of comedic relief at the cast party. Have fun... you'll be fine after the first few notes chase the butterflies... I think it was in 7th grade. I was one of the three wise men in a nativity play. My mom made me a really great costume and I had to solo one of the verses to We Three Kings.

I've performed on stage lots of times in bands, but that was the last time I performed in a school play.

Omg! 2nd grade , school Christmas play, got stage fright (Which is total irony 'cuz I can be quite the little attention seeker. 😊) forgot my line, (I think I only had 1 or 2) started crying and to top the act off I peed myself live onstage. Our teacher had to escort me off. Not my greatest performance. 🤣

Since then I sometimes perform country songs with my sisters at our little local fair or for family gatherings, etc. without humiliating myself (Too much 😂) and I love performing so it's all good but that was my only experience on stage at school. 😁

It really helped that I have very supportive sisters and they have all done (almost) as equally embarrassing stuff and we all like to tease each other in fun so it's all good. And at least they didn't put it on You Tube or something! 🤣

I was 14 when I was in the final year of school. I remember this cringe song that my friend insisted on and I gave in. That pop artist was pretty popular back then but if I take her name... and tell you the song, you'd find it pretty ridiculous, lol. So, I'd rather not share because it's mortifying.

No, no, I was in 10th standard. We had to apply for a college after 10th standard, so we didn't call it as school. 😅 I was youngest one in the class though. Felt quite out of the place even though I had friends. I was more into drawing than any other extra curricular activities. I enjoyed dancing but not at the school

We were to sing a few songs in high school on stage. One of these songs was "Staying Alive" by Bee Gees. After a few training sessions, my voice was so wasted from singing a falsetto, that I caught an infection and lost my voice for some time. Still, had to perform, but thankfully others were drowning me out, so nobody heard it.

Why were you still in the performance though? If you had a voice infection they should have given you time to rest and should have post pone the performance or replaced you with someone else.

I know right, I once had to perform in our school's olympics as the lead pianist and it was a 15 minutes performance with every 100 kids participating and around 10 instruments with vocalists. We prepared for that for 1.5 months, 5 -8 hours in school. And I don't remember the songs but I still have enough muscle memory in my fingers to play it all.
