What is your favorite cult classic movie of all time?

I feel like this is a tougher pick for some people. It normally would be for me except that “Fight Club” is one of my all time favorite movies. So it’s an easy answer to this question. However, “The Big Lebowski” is a very close second!
I think maybe it will be extra difficult for younger people. They consume movies differently. A flick might roll through the theater only for a week if it doesn’t catch fire. But they typically stream for at least a month even if literally nobody watches them. A little word of mouth can make a quirky movie an instant hit. Will younger generations even have cult classics in the future? Oh my. That’s a whole other can of worms! Let’s get back on track…
What movie did you discover late, but grew to love. Only to find out that there’s a small army of similarly minded and passionate fans like yourself? Is there more than one? Do you have a favorite?

For me it would be Blade Runner. Although Clockwork Orange is right up there when i saw your post. Is Dr Strangelove a cult classic? If yes then I love that one too.

I’m not entirely sure. I found a list of 40, and some of the titles surprised me because i thought they were very popular. However, the term “cult” has kind of evolved to include shows like “The X Files” that were very popular, but a portion of their fan base is cultishly obsessive.

Brilliant! The series was redeeming, in my opinion. If Lambert had deigned to do television at the time, i would have found it irresistible, probably.
Ahead of its time! Imagine a respectful “Highlander” series in the streaming age!

He did appear in the pilot episode. Adrian Paul is one of the best sword handlers in the business - he even made guest stars like Roland Gift look way more competent than they actually are (or were at the time).

I was impressed with their work together in Endgame, but was disappointed Connor died in it. It kind of made sense as Lambert is brilliant, but far older than he was in '86 now.

Hope he's got a cameo in the new movie

Surprised no one mentioned the Lord of the rings trilogy; It's been over 20 years since it was released and people are still obsessed with it, making memes and using it as creative inspiration. Additionally Dead Poets society, Brokeback mountain, Eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, the Shawshank Redemption, Pirates of the Caribbean V for Vendetta all have their own fanbase that still reference or quote them
