Well, after a couple of years, the cops finally got their shot at punishing him for not being a criminal and trying to make a little money to repair the damages and losses that they caused. The jury found Afroman not liable for any perceived damages! 🎉🎊

They destroyed his property, which they can hide behind the law to wrongly justify, but rhen they stole his money ($400 got "lost"?)... sounds to me these cops have probably been F'ing around for a while and when they finally entered the "find out" stage they didn't like it.

When you are a public official, when you are given the authority of law enforcement, as with ANY position of leadership, you are ALWAYS in the public eye and should. be held to a higher standard. When you have the power to disrupt people's lives in a serious way, when you have the power of the state to take people's freedom, that which is most sacred, you should be held accountable. They were held. accountable.

And, I agree, kudos are rarely given to law enforcement when they do their jobs correctly, but no other job expects kudos for doing their job correctly. I dont get kudos when I deal. a blackjack hand correctly... difference is, if I mess up too much, I find myself unemployed, if they mess up too. much, they go to the town next door. If I mess up, you lose $50 and it gets fixed. If they mess up, you can lose your life. Theyre playing a high stakes game and the only ones who pay when they are wrong, are the people they are paid to protect, and, like in this case, they are not even responsible for the harm they cause.

Most cops are just folks, many are good people, but... Police need better training, higher hiring standards, and to be held to higher standards, and then, like they have in other countries, the relationship between the public and the police may be less confrontational and more cooperative... this would provide better results for everyone.

I don’t think qualified immunity should apply when no crimes are committed. Their raid produced absolutely nothing. Therefore they should have to pay for the repairs to his home and pay back the “lost” cash.
If evidence of crimes is found, then by all means those damages and losses are all part of the cost of doing illicit business.
But these overzealous pigs claimed to have received an anonymous tip and walked away empty handed. As far as i’m concerned, they owe him, and qualified immunity needs to be meaningfully revised.

I agree, but I can also see how, with the horrible lack of oversight, and how it already happens anyway, it would only encourage already crooked officers to plant evidence to avoid liability.
