Do you collect anything special like pottery or other treasures?

Im a big collector of portmeirion pottery pacifically the botanic garden collection. (I dont collect easier eggs by the way 🤣)

I first got into it when me and my husband went to visit the cotswolds as he worked there at the time and he went to visit a friend's crockery shop.

I instantly fell in love with them and haven't shop collecting since. I have other pottery but this is my baby. I even bought the Welsh dresser just so I could display them. Im constantly looking for them in the charity shops and antique shops looking for a deal.

You have an attractive collection.

I tend to collect many different types of things, according to my fancy, and in the evolution of my many interests over the years.

Musical instruments, books, boats, fishing tackle, pretty rocks, tools, visual art, on and on go my varieties of collections of 'stuff'.

It's all nicely organized and displayed for my enjoyment, and for the interest and enjoyment of visitors to my home.

One of my sisters says that my home has the look of everything being exactly as it should be.
I consider that to be a great compliment.

@misspiggy2025 I'd say I own a number of bibles, prayer books, crosses, rosaries, prayer beads, icons, medals - altogether *they're not expensive stuffs - I'd say about $300 AUD worth including the books 😀📚

I collect this and that. Things I like.

I collect a sandrose because I like it. Or coins and bank notes from different countries.

I want to collect Hard Rock Café Shirts. And wear them.

I collect some Hot Wheels Cars, only those I like.

I collect glasses I like.

I collect CDs and DVDs and Blu-rays I like.

Not treasures just normal things. But I like and want to keep. For a while.

Yes, I collect quite a few things. Decorative glass of various colours and themes. Animal sculptures. Songbird art, often glazed ceramic but in all sorts of forms. I even have some window vinyls right next to me right now, which I ordered recently from Germany (they are very good with accurate, naturalistic themes). I'm surprised how much I like them on the window.
I also love silver-toned jewellery and diamonds and faux crystal, etc. I'm a sucker for all those cool and clean tones.
I love accessories in general, and especially hats and scarves, of which I have many scarves because they are such a great way to add colour and patterns you don't find elsewhere (fast-fashion being so economically efficient and therefore quite dull and patternless.)
I was an interior designer, and my personal style is a mix of classic traditions and contemporary freshness, but always with naturalistic themes.

Which actually has some sadness attached to it, because my mother was an avid butter-lover, and needed ways to contain and store it, so I searched for many hours one day and found her a covered dish I thought she would like. But she didn't. And never used it, I don't know why, and eventually just gave it back to me - and I don't have butter out on the counter, I keep it in the fridge for cooking only, so I only have the dish out sometimes just to look at the beautiful birds on it. It's now laden with conflicted feelings, and memories of disconnect that we never reconciled or resolved before her passing. She had that victimhood mentality, for one thing...

I sold pottery for a while, not self made but branded and rare items, you go to a thrift shop and youd be surprised on what you would find, either ways I stopped but my parents know a lot about it and still do it

Most Murano people own was made for the mid-century bourgeois tourist trade vying for bragging rights among their neighbors. Later pieces are watered-down knockoffs sold in mall shops, the Euro-equivalent of Tupperware or Lladro. The true Murano masterpieces from the Roman Empire have been in the permanent collections of museums for centuries; most of these are not on display. Serious private collectors go for Czech crystal from ancient regions of Bohemia.
