How much do you spend on your significant other for holidays, birthdays, other special occasions, etc?

My partner isn’t super materialistic, but for his birthday this year I got him 2 different bottles of his favourite brands scotch whiskey, a quality grooming kit for his beard since he’s been wanting one for a while, and some new clothes. Altogether I think I spent $250. I spend less on Christmas presents than I do birthday presents, so for Christmas this year I’ve only bought him a cheeky coffee mug and plan on spoiling him in other ways 😉

Bought my now ex a nice 18kt gold chain for £100 which was a good bit of money to me then, it was a good deal from a retiring dealer I knew... retail now would be a few hundred quid

could be "nothing" or hundreds, even thousands... it would depend on the occasion and if she really wanted something or not, I spend a lot more on the little ones, than the adults

I really don't put a price on gifts. If I'm with someone, I don't mind spurgling on him for special occasions!
Obviously I'm not going to break the bank buying gifts, but I don't mind getting him something he wants or has been eyeing, but won't buy for himself.

Usually I'll ask him what wants and go from there.

True. It’s the thought that counts. I wouldn’t want someone who demands gifts from me. But I also sure appreciate just about anything.
