***Making plans to Go Out of State for the Holidays. xx
When I was a younger (I don't remember exactly when), there was a hotel that went up near where I lived. I never counted, but it was TALL, at least ten or twelve stories, but it was built seemingly overnight. Obviously that's not FACTUALLY true; I just didn't happen to pass by for a while, but it was built VERY fast, faster than they could've done when I was a kid. In a way, it bothered me- not that construction techniques were getting more advanced, but the idea that something as momentous as this giant building could be created so quickly and easily, and thus presumably torn down with equal ease and casualness.
Part of the reason I keep my beard grown out as long as I do is as a wordless rebuke of the quick-fix, instant-everything attitude of our society; as a wise put it, "You cannot grow a beard in a moment of passion". (Incidentally, I've wondered why more Japanese men don't grow beards: their society seems- from my VERY outside perspective- even more speed-oriented than ours, but their philosophical culture, if I may so term it, seems more reflective; you'd think they'd feel the same way).
So no, I don't make big Christmas plans before Thanksgiving; a holiday that's decidedly noncommercial and much more about companionship and gratitude (feelings that are far slower, gentler, and, I'd argue, more essential), is the sort of thing I think we need MORE of, not less. But the critical thing there is not the DOING, but the FEELING; a Thanksgiving of the heart, not the body.

We already began buying gifts, organizing events, planning parties and booking travel arrangements for the Christmas season.
To each and every one of you, Happy Thanksgiving!
Stay healthy & safe.
Thanksgiving already passed here over a month ago, so no. I prepare for Christmas starting in December, usually at the last minute.

I know Thanksgiving. Christmas is a little far out. I don’t like having a full on itinerary but I also like to have some idea on what I’m doing.
Like vacations I like to enjoy instead of being stressed out hopping from one thing to the next.
I will cross the bridge of Christmas when I get to it
I already have many plans made for the month of December. Concerts, parties, year-end meetings, and also busy at work the first two weeks of the month.
My SO and I always go somewhere in early December for a mini-vacation. We had to change our plans somewhat due to the lasting effects of Hurricane Ian, but we're still taking a few days off.
Of course we are.
Heck, we're already doing stuff from our 2020 list. ;- )
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK. However I also not really bothered about Christmas this year. It has been a very difficult year for me and Christmas is just more pressure.
Most of the shopping is bought other than fresh produce
Gifts are bought
Only got to buy cigars and plan out everything else in December with other people (much much harder to plan)I don't celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas is not a big deal to me. So no, I'm not making any plans.
My wife and I have already bought most of the presents for everyone and we started decorating the house yesterday. It will end up a horror show eventually.
Nope, I hate planing anything
I'm Mr, Spontaneous and it pisses off the Misses to no end
If I even have one, it's only got 2 things on it. I'm hoping to take care of one, right now! The other, I'm still not 100% sure I'm gonna do.
Paris, I love your questions. That to-do list was done in late September! :)
i'm not sure i know what a Christmas to do list means
My to-do list (is that what they call a bucket list?) was written ages ago, and I still haven’t done many of the things.
I don't even think about Christmas until in December.
Not at this point. Just going to have a quiet celebration.
I don't know when either of those dates are and will be skipping both.
Yes. I'm listing my activities and budget for Christmas 🎄
Nope it's just spend time with mom at dinner a. Figure out what to buy we do different meats yearly but its fun to change meats up from ham to steak to pizza to philly cheese steak and chicken breast strips
