Am I bad for giving unfair gifts to my cousins?

My goddaughter visited me today along with her cousin my goddaughter is also my cousin. I gave them gifts for Christmas. Also there is also the mother of my cousin 2 along with her siblings. So they are total of 4 plus my goddaughter. I gave them expensive gifts and gave my goddaughter only cheap gift. When they opened it she seemed sad when she saw their gifts compared to her but didn't say a word.. she said thank you tho.. so AITA?

Tbf it can make kids feel like shit, even though money and gifts aren’t everything. My grandad used to get my cousins piles of expensive gifts and would give me and my sister one cheap gift each with no thought put in. I didn’t care about getting gifts, but it’s the comparison and clear difference there that hurts.
