Christmas. Is Kwanzaa a real thing?

I've so far not met an African American that actually celebrates it. I was leaving over a dish to my black American neighbours last year and they were having a family gathering. I wished them a Happy Kwanzaa and they laughed at me, apparently it's not a real thing and they celebrate Christmas because they are Christians (baptists). I knew black folks in England from Africa and they always celebrated Christmas too, they were catholics like me sk big emphasis on the Christ part of Christmas.

I once read a comment online from a White guy who wanted to attend a Kwanza celebration at his town's African-American heritage center, to learn more about it, and they straight up told him it's a holiday for black people and White people aren't welcome.

500,000 to 2,000,000 Americans celebrate Kwanzaa so out of the 300 million total…. Not much, pretty small.

It was introduced in 1966 to bring back African culture & heritage, other than that… Don’t know much about it. Last time I heard of it was in my 2nd grade class.

15,000,000 Americans celebrate Hanukkah (from the numbers I’ve found) so comparing them yeahhh definitely Kwanzaa is on the lesser of the two though I don’t judge, I let people celebrate what their traditional thing is Happy Holidays! Kwanzaa was a political invention invented by the Democrat left in the United States in order to accuse anyone who questions it of being a racist because calling people names is the only strategy the Democrat left uses since their agenda is two unpopular to to win elections. Unfortunately there are a lot of ignorant and just plain dumb people who fall for that strategy. And those are the people the Democrats count on.

Black Americans were brought to the USA on slave ships. They were sold off by other Africans from Africa. There Surnames were changed to American names. A lot of them learned Christianity after a while. When black American's ancestors were slaves they weren't taught to read or taught anything about their history just to work on a plantation and do physical labor.

Their ancestors were betrayed by their own people and were sold off, so there ancestors probably cut ties with their culture. And Black Americans have become a part of US culture. You go into a lot of restaurants you hear the Blues playing. I am oversimplifying, but you get the idea I am going to cover all of the history.

It's kind of amazing considering the first place Christianity took root was Africa. Most people until the 1900s couldn't read or write and surnames were rather recent in human history.

All they really knew was how to do was work on a plantation the masters didn't teach them anything else if they were slaves. The masters raped the girls and women who were slaves to make more. That is why a lot of them are mixed race or very light skinned. Some Black Americans even have blue eyes. Thomas Jefferson had a relationship with one of his slaves who was the sister of his wife, but his wife was a white woman. His wife and her sister both looked similar.

The masters were scared to teach them how to read or do anything else because they didn't want them to rebel. They called named the slaves things like William and John. So they didn't know anything about Africa or history. Only free Black people knew how to read and were aware of those things.

I have never known anyone who celebrates or even acknowledges it. It is viewed by most as a tool of separating and segregating, which is the opposite of unifying. A race claiming they want to be treated equally but then manufacturing a holiday that only their race celebrates is pure hypocrisy.
