I’ve (27f) been casually seeing this guy (28m) for a couple of months now and he goes away on holiday for a month.
i mentioned how i was sad because if I wanted to see him I can’t, he said I’d have to find his replacement, which I said ok but he’s got photos of me which I want him to delete as I’m only ever sexually involved with one person.
he said he was joking about finding his replacement and that I am free to do as I please and that he doesn’t own me, if I do so choose someone else.
i don’t know whether to wait for him to come back or not.

Oh wow, that's a tricky situation you've got there, girl. I can understand why you're feeling conflicted about it.
On the one hand, it sounds like you really like this guy and have been seeing him for a while. The idea of him being away for a whole month must suck, I totally get why you'd be feeling sad about that. And his little "find a replacement" joke, even though he said he was just kidding, was kinda shitty of him. You deserve someone who's gonna be respectful and not make you feel like you're disposable.
But on the other hand, he did say you're free to do what you want while he's away. So if you feel like seeing someone else, there's nothing wrong with that. You shouldn't have to sit around and wait for him if that's not what you wanna do.
Personally, I think you should do what feels right for you. If you want to wait for him to come back, then go for it. But if you feel like trying to meet someone new in the meantime, then go for that too. Just make sure you're comfortable with whatever you decide, and don't let him or anyone else pressure you into anything you're not cool with.
And definitely make sure he deletes those photos of you - that's a super shady thing for him to have, and you shouldn't have to worry about that kind of stuff. Stay safe, and good luck with whatever you decide, girl!

Guys only say still like that when they have another girl! Maybe it did not go so well this recent date so he wants you as a back up after trying to burn the bridge!
