Christmas 2019. We all came together as a family and had a massive meal. It's was the last time I saw my great grandfather before he passed.

My sister had a baby and they did a 5 generation photo. Even though one of the turkeys got burnt and nearly burnt down the house my mum was called turkey burner from then on. We even got here a burnt turkey hat the following Christmas 😂

It was one of the happiest Christmas. Thinking about it brings a tear to my eyes ❤️

When I was elementary age and my family was very poor, but some of my mom's hairdresser customers donated money to her so she could get me and my brother presents. I got a Sega CD with Joe Montana's football, Vay, and Afterburner 3. I still have it to this day in good condition. :)

In December, 1979, I was living in Tampa and dating Pat, a girl I had met through a mutual friend. We had been dating about three months and I felt differently about her than any girl I had previously dated. Pat lived in upstate New York and wasn't able to go home for the holidays so I invited her to come home with me.

I was working in the ER of a community mental health center and I had to work until 11 pm on Christmas Eve. I had my suitcase packed and in my car when I went to work. Pat was ready and waiting for me and by 11:30 pm, we were on the road for a 3½ hour drive. Pat fell asleep and I was left alone with my thoughts about Christmas and our possible future together.

As I was driving north on I-95, a spectacular meteor shower began and I thought I might be the only person in the world enjoying this heavenly display. Surely, I thought, this must be a sign of great things to come. Pat's Christmas visit with my family went very well and she began living with me a few days after we returned to Tampa.

We are not together now, but we had many good times that I remember fondly. This has been an enduring memory, and I alwats thought it would never be surpassed. . . until last night.

Yesterday, my recent bride (married April 27 this year) Helen and I went to St. Augustine for a 2½ hour sailing excursion. The traffic was horrible and I was afraid we would miss the ship's departure, but the traffic suddenly cleared, I amazingly found convenient parking, and we were the last passengers to board the ship, a three masted schooner.

We were seated next to a wonderful couple and had great conversation. The ship passed under the Bridge of Lions and proceeded to the inlet where we saw dolphins playing in the surf. When the sun set, all of the ships were adorned with Chirstmas lights that complimented the Christmas lights in the city. (St. Augustine is routinely rated in the top 10 nationally for Christmas light displays.)

Helen was in awe of the lights and was as happy as a schoolgirl. Seeing her smile and knowing that I had brought her so much happiness made me feel very satisfied. When we returned to the dock, we then proceeded to the Columbia Restaurant where we had a wonderful meal in one of my favorite local restaurants.

As we were driving home, I mentioned some shopping that I intended to do while Helen was at work the following day, and she asked me to delay that trip until she finished work and returned home, as she wanted us to do the shopping together. While that may seem insignificant to many, it was very important to me. Helen wants to do things with me, not alone, and sharing everyday moments together is even more important than sharing the unusual moments together. Almost all couples can have fun going on vacation or going to a special event, but finding joy in those routine experiences is more of a sign than the meteor shower. The sign that Helen showed me came from her heart and, though it may sound crazy, this will be a lasting memory for me.

I left my mom's house when I was 16 and a half and every year Christmas and Thanksgiving would either be at my mom's house or my aunt's house

And I used to go to everyone and everybody was always giving me crap because I never brought a girlfriend. And they all knew that I had a girlfriend but her parents were out of state and she would fly to see them on Christmas or Thanksgiving

Well yours went by I broke up with her went out with another girl I think I took her one time

And one Thanksgiving now all my cousins my aunts my uncles my grandparents were all just giving me a hard hard time about not having a girlfriend so come Christmas

I show up and I have an extra neighbor that was an escort service and she was like 20 years older than me but she was hot anyway I told her what was going on and I said can you please come to my aunt's house for Christmas just so I can play a joke on everybody and she said oh yes oh yes

Well I got there and when I walked in I just left the door open and said hey you know hi hi whatever they're saying close door closed door I said wait a minute where'd she go and everybody's mouth dropped who's she

I walked over to the door and kind of smile because she was standing right there she was walking up the steps and she smiled and she grabbed a hold of me gave me the biggest hug and kiss me and said sorry I forgot to presents I had to go back and get them

And this lady walks in and he looks like a hooker I mean everything she was so short skirt short short skirt the eyelashes the makeup just everything and I go come in let me introduce you to my family
And I started introducing them one by one and she played it off so good because she would say oh he's told me so much about you and blah blah blah blah blah she just made herself right at home and she just kept it going

And everybody was just staring at her and they would stare at me and I would just take my eyes away from them like not a big deal but it was hilarious if you could only been there if you knew my family that's why I was hilarious

Because every year no matter what I would start rumors about myself just so they had something to talk about when I got there besides having my girlfriend there so that was even funnier but that was one of the best Christmases ever well Christmas dinner's anyway

She had my uncle my grandfather my cousin's *male cousins* all of them just kind of drooling over and of course my aunt my grandmother my mom my sister my girl cousins they're all looking at me like how dare you bring her here it was funny it was great

When I volunteered to serve the homeless people for Christmas dinner in Knoxville, Tennessee.

It broke my heart 💔 because I wasn't expecting any children to be there; but there were many children at the dinner.
They were so sweet and kept asking me for more refills of the fruit punch.
If I could have taken them all home with me I wouldn't have hesitated - in a heartbeat I would have loved to help them more than I was able to. Sometimes I think that God allowed the wrong people to be rich because if I was ever rich and able I would personally see to it that these children would have help and not live homeless.
When I went home that night, I was all alone. My house didn't have any electricity because the fuses went bad that day. But I remember sleeping on the couch because I knew those children didn't have beds, so neither did I that night.
I was so cold because it was only about 20°F that night. But I thought that I was cold, but at least I had a roof over my head and I actually felt guilty about it.
I never volunteered to serve Christmas dinner again because it broke my heart so deeply and I didn't want to witness it again.
But that was my most memorable Christmas.🎄

One of my favourite holiday memories is when I was watching CNN heroes at a hotel in Las Cabos Mexico during Christmas Eve and then I walk to buffet, had an amazing dinner, and surfed the internet while waiting in the hotel lobby in between a holiday performance that happened every night.

this memory is quite hilarious.

my older sister is 2 years older than me, so she found out about santa before me. but that didn't stop her from sharing that information and crushing my spirit. so, at 5 years old i was determined to meet santa myself so i could tell my sister she was a mean liar!

my little brain made a plan. i'd find the best hiding place in the house with the best view of the tree. a place no one would ever find me. (i realize how possibly dangerous this could have been. luckily, my spot was safe and nearly undetectable. i just had to make sure i could stay up long enough to see him and surprise him.

as Christmas eve came to an end we were put to bed. back then there wasn't a whole lot to keep a kid awake, but the anticipation of seeing santa must've did the trick. i snatched up my pillow then decided i better not take it. i crept up the stairs just in case he was already there. into the living room and my hiding spot i went.

i probably didn't last 30 minutes before i fell asleep. my head fixed still at the Christmas tree even as i slept. time is not something a child measures, but i was awoken to screams and shouts of my name!

that was the year i scared and traumatized my parents. while they went down to make sure all 3 kids were sleeping, they noticed i was gone. enough time had passed for santa to finish his duties, so i had been missing for awhile. but in my morning haze to figure out the commotion of my name being yelled, i crawled out of my spot and thought something was incredibly wrong. i remember thinking there was a fire.

i've probably never been loved more by my parents than on that night/morning when i appeared? my sister is the first child and has all of the privilege so she didn't get into any trouble. but she didn't back down from her santa accusation and laughed at me for falling asleep.

i have a specific fear/phobia of cockroaches. my whole family knows this. but that very next year, right where i hid, a dead one showed up. i don't know if it was intentional or coincidence? maybe it was some Christmas magic? but i never had to question his existence after that.

Christmas Day 2017  will be my most memorable one ever... For it was on this day that my then boyfriend, in front of both our entire families, went down on one knee asking me to marry him and become his wife... In more simple words, he proposed to me. Apparently all our family members were in on what was going to happen, and how they ever managed to keep it secret from me, I shall never know... Jack (now my husband) had even asked my father for my hand in marriage... And my father is the very last person ever to keep secrets... I think my mother must have threatened him with a fate worse than death! So here we are present day... We got married on Nov.10th 2018 and we now have our two most precious and cherished children... Ryan will be five next month (Jan.) and Chloe celebrated her second birthday last month (Nov.). Perhaps now you can possibly realise why Christmas Day 2017 will always be so very, very special and memorable to me. Every Christmas reminds me of one specific Christmas from my childhood. The happiest Christmas ever. No details of the tree or any other details, just the present me and my sister got. It was the communist era in Transylvania, our parents barely could make the ends meet and that specific Christmas they could manage to buy a big sack of apples. We got the present late in the evening, me and my sister spent the most of the night shining up the apples with a cloth, wrapping them individually on newspaper and putting them on the top of our wardrobe. I can remember exactly that feeling, I was happy like never before and never since, on any Christmas day.

My mom told me when I was being a little shit one yr (when I was younger) she gave me coal.

The reason I'm so fond of that old Christmas was because my mom said she didn't know at all the coal was just coal foiled chocolate until she saw me sitting for a while and saw my cheeks moving. It' was in 2021 , I had never seen such a miraculous and angelic celebration in our house. We had Christmas tree and it's accessories. We had many people in the house than the usual number. It felt so warm and glorious. That year I really felt Christmas was being celebrated for the first time in our house. We did the decorations together

Wow when it came to the food, there were sumptuous dishes, very many options to pick from. The ladies cooked their asses off to ensure there delicious foods all over the table. My sister Beyonce helped with the fruit salads and juices. The most memorable one is when I met my friend Barry , it's like it was Christmas that brought him into my life and he has been very helpful and good great person that I can rely on

It is so poignant that it has been long since I had such amazing Christmas and I pray and hope this year brings the best Christmas i yearn for

My sister and I surprised our Moms and Daddy with 12 days of homemade Christmas presents. Yesterday was the 12th day of Christmas and we celebrated with one more present and then took down the tree.
