Should Jan6th be made a national holiday?

On Jan 6th 2020 over a million people came to Washington DC to exercise their constitutional rights to protest a stolen election. They were investigated and over 1500 were arrested by the FBI and hundreds have been imprisoned , many without being charged.

Four years later Donald Trump was certified to be our 47th president in the greatest political comeback in history.

This time the American people were able to decide the direction their country will take. This time we should celebrate our Democracy.

Lol, so what you're really saying is that we should tell our babies to cry louder and stomp around throwing temper tantrums all because things don't go their way, and on the day that they do it the first time it will be marked on the calendar and be celebrated annually, celebrating the day they threw a temper tantrum to try and get what they want immaturely. But yeah yknow what I get it. Not everyone is always happy losing but it doesn't mean i go celebrating the time i throw a hissy fit about it, i especially wouldn't be celebrating it if it caused people to die because of it.

Would you be asking the same thing if it was the Democrats that did this, up to and including killing someone, hanging effigy of someone in their own party swinging from a rope, attempting to zip tie people, or is this only available if Republicans do it, or Republicans don't believe in the election results and feel the need to create violent acts and literally threaten people's lives, "to make a point."

The answer to that is no and you know it. If this had actually been a group of upset individuals demanding a recount for the billionth time to certify results, I'd say, yes, let's celebrate the people's freedom to protest and free speech, etc, but that is not what this day was.

If the election was stolen and we were about to be subjected to an illegitimate administration I would absolutely be outraged. There has been polls that showed that up to 20% of democrats believed the election was stolen. They keep quiet because they got the result that they wanted.

If this day was about a Republican belief that the election was stolen, by all means, exercise your right as I literally said, but when your event ends in THE DEATH of someone killed for showing up that day to do their job, and you conveniently ignore that or people stringing up an effigy of their own party members on the front lawn, and kicking down doors, breaking glass, causing mass damage, and entering places and threatening people with violence, do not sit here and talk about fairness. A life was lost and many people were terrified with violence including, once again, Republican party members. This isn't 1892 here, there are legal means up to and including PEACEFUL protests to get your point across.
