It has been 22 years since terrorists crashed 2 jetliners into the World Trade Center in New York killing thousands of Americans and causing a seismic shift in everyone's lives.
There are many who were not born yet or were too young to remember it. Do you think we need to take a day to remember the dead and the sacrifices of our first responders?
No, not a national dar where the post offices are closed, the banks are closed, the government is closed schools are closed - no not that kind of rememberence.
For one thing there are millions of people that are living in America 🇺🇸 that aren't Americans. They are just here, but not American's.
Weren't American 🇺🇸 planes with mostly American's involved in the horrible way they died? The plane in Pennsylvania looked like American's that fought for their lives, and all of them were lost.
I'm sure the Pentagon had mostly American's working there and trying to fight for their lives. The same with both World Trade Center's. If I'm not mistaken, don't they already have a memorial for the lives that were lost?
If you want a day off from work take one of your sick days.
Why have a holiday for something that no one seems to care about in our own government? That single day brought our nation together and brought in new rules for airport security and the TSA. But Biden said, screw that. We are going to let every comer in with no questions asked, and ship them all over the US so they can have hundreds of terrorist cells as well as cartels and any other type of criminal into our country.
it should be a day of national remembrance like Pearl Harbor day, but becoming a national holiday would make it a federal holiday right?
i believe that is the case which means another day the federal government can take off. I don't think that should be the case.
although at the same time i wouldn't have a problem if it was made a national holiday. actually a congressmen from my state has written up a bill to make it a federal holiday

Why would you want to have a holiday that glorifies terrorism?
UK here. I don't know about a holiday. You barely do any work as it is unless you count selling drugs. Maybe just set off some fireworks. No, hear me out. We still celebrate the anniversary of some lunatic trying to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Sadly, he failed.

No and you need to stop harping on this. This is the second or third time you've asked about this and the answer is still no for at least from me. We brought this on ourselves and while it was a tragedy, we don't need a day to remember it. There were no heroes in this situation. Not really.
I think we should have one rememberance/memorial day and leave it at that.
Realistically no one has the intellect or integrity to do that but another day off to compensate for Halloween would be cool indeed.
I don't think an inside job of killing own people and blame "terrorists" event should be a holiday 🤷♂️. The Amenians don't have a holiday for the massacres the turkish commited against their people.
Yes I do especially for those kids who don't remember it. It would be good to have it as a holiday to always be remembered.
