11 dThe pressure to be ‘perfectly festive’ and the expectation that everything has to feel magical.
It can make people overlook the simple moments that actually matter, the quiet, the laughter, the small acts of care.20 Reply

u 11 dI hate... I hate...I... HATE... singing Christmas carols with my mom's side of the family. I've never liked it to begin with, but now that we're no longer traveling to be with them for Christmas, it is INFINITELY worse. And like little Cindy Lou Who, you're probably asking "But why?" Ya wanna know why? I'll tell you why!
Because we're still doing it...
OVER. ZOOM!!!
What's so awful about that, you may ask? Because now it means people coming in late, audio and video going in and out, people not singing in sync with each other, a decade and a half of banter between songs, my dad writing stupid messages in the Google Share Drive sheet.
It. Is. A. NIGHTMARE!
So to singing Christmas carols, I give a loud and proud...
20 ReplyThat I don't have anyone to spend it with. All of my relatives have died. My son lives with another family and I don't see him anymore. No presents, no dinner. 😔
But that's not what Christmas is all about anyway for any of us. It's the day that was chosen to celebrate 🎇 the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Happy birthday Jesus ❣️🎉 🎈35 Reply- 11 d
I'm sorry but you are right. Its the day we should be celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. I agree. ❣️

Thank you for saying that to me.🙂
10 dThe stress that my mom puts on me. For me she is just exhausting to deal with.
She claims she hates Christmas and she isn't religious, every year she says she doesn't wanna do anything and then last minute she does something and wants everyone to be there and she gifts everyone a bigger gift, even tho we all agree on not giving gifts and that it's just more about the get together but she is the one who still buys gifts and therefore makes everyone uncomfortable but she doesn't realize it, no matter how often we tell her, i have to communicate to everyone and keep the balance and help out and ugghhhhh I hate it. Then she will get mad at me and discuss with me why she is in the right and why i'm according to her the problem and mentally ill for making everyone so uncomfortable.
I always wish that we don't do something with her tbh10 ReplyWell this year become an artist with there own Personal message in or on a tee. shirt.
Go get a beautiful color in your book. Pick a page for each person or if you have good handwriting, write down on paper a message to them. But you have to write it in crayon
Then take the page out, cut all the excess page off of it, set it on a piece of Saran wrap, cover the top of it with Saran wrap.\n Place it on a T-shirt, put some parchment paper over it. And then iron onto a shirt that you picked for them
Iron it on really good and then gently lift the parchment and paper up , and whatever you created will now be on the shirt10 Reply
10 dWorst thing has to be missing family members and close friends that are gone now. Missing the Christmases and Thanksgivings of the past. That has to be the hardest part of The Holidays. Between Halloween and New Years there are a lot of memories that come up. Especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.
10 ReplyThe pressure to buy gifts created by greedy capitalists. I have money but I don't feel comfortable while giving gifts. I would prefer give those people this money those gifts are supposed to cost and they should do with it what they want. However giving money is considered as laziness unless it's been agreed beforehand.

10 dChristmas is the lousiest holiday of them all by a long shot. There are a few Christmas movies that i enjoy and one Christmas song. Everything else can go away forever and i wouldn’t care one bit. I’d even be willing to lose those movies and that song in order to see Christmas wiped from the planet for eternity.

m 11 dfor me... Christmas is no longer cold with a very good chance of snowing
I could even hang out in shorts during the holidays but then I would not stop hearing people complaining about it... lol10 Reply 645 opinions shared on Holidays topic. Not having money never stopped me from spending money on presents. This is why God invented credit cards.

I'm in a lot of debt though with credit cards so I don't even have that luxury.

I wish I could but I'm trying to pay the ones I have now down. But I can at least get them cards for Christmas. May not be much but its something.

9 dWhen it ends.
Spending it alone.
They way so many people today start it around Halloween and then kill it dead at the stroke of midnight Christmas night, like it never existed.
Growing up, some of the shitty gifts my aunt would get me. She was a bargain hunter and was ALWAYS buying shit on sale, even if she didn't need it because SOMEBODY would at SOME point so, she'd buy a pack of white tube socks one summer and eventually give them to me for Christmas just to get rid of them. In the meantime, I never wear tube socks or white socks!! Just ordinary socks of black, blue or brown.10 ReplyHonestly I like everything about Christmas except maybe thinking about what you want to gift people. I'm still figuring it out. Last time I made cards that I drew by hand or painted. But this year I don't think I have the time nd energy to do it and I'm working on other art projects. But I'll buy something nice hopefully :)

10 dThat’s a negative mind set…
love doesn’t involve money/presents…
for my wedding… my friend gave me her hand made origami.
you can just write a card.
in our family… we don’t do presents… I think it’s a sick society.
our family of 15-20 people are happy as can be to just be together.10 Reply
10 dFor me it's company diners. Supposedly for the workers, but it's organized at times when everybody is off work. I have better things to do in my weekend than having diner with my colleagues and pretend it's the best weekend experience of my life. And then, do the same thing again with my girlfriends colleagues...
