Does anyone still make their own Christmas cookies?

I don't make my own cookies because I can never get past the step after preparing the dough. I usually eat the raw dough and there is nothing left for the baking. I have given up on doing cookies years ago.

I tried once as a kid to make anise cookies (under the supervision of my mum) just like in the picture below

Believe it or not, they were rock hard. So hard in fact that you had to dunk them in coffee to make them edible. I gave some to our dog that almost gave up on trying to chew them. He gave me a pity look and since then, I never complete the final step to put them in the oven and prefer to eat them raw.

I usually just helped decorating them with frosting and stuff. My mom always made the cookies. Still does to this day.

I made some simple ones - and my step grandson helps me. Funny - we are not that much into cookies, but the mess in the kitchen is good fun (the Missus sees that differently, though).

Absolutely. With the way the holidays fell this year and with extra family trips in/out/around, I will only be able to run about 1,000+ or so, instead of my usual 1,800-2,000 or so. I'm going for about 200 brown sugar (plain), 200 white sugar (with deco), already did 220 spritz (half white, half green), chocolate chip (next to be done) about 300, and about 150-200 rainbow pinwheels. I have nixed time-consuming specials such as chocolate logs (4 steps to do), and a couple of others, for this year due to time issues.

I always loved my Mom’s Christmas Tree cookies she made every year , ever since I was a kid , Now that my Mom has passed away , I now make her Christmas Tree cookies because my Dad gave me her recipe , they are my favorite

Yes. Maybe they aren't prettiest ones because I use butter dough that loses a little bit shape while backing but it tastes good.
With white sour glassing and colored sprinkles it optically appearing and outperform grocery cookies.
