Motherhood Ages You... And That's Okay

...and mothers are fine with that.

Being a mother seems to be one of life's most precious and profound experiences and blessings.

So many women want to be mothers and rarely, if ever, think about the difficulties that might ensue during or after the pregnancy.

Now...of course...if you want something that big you probably won't be thinking about some of those small things like stretch marks or tearing, or even the sleepless nights, but some of those things will definitely age you, and even though you might not care about them, you may want to be informed:

Motherhood Ages You

1. You'll get less to no sleep in the next few months

...and that's okay. The less sleep you get the more your skin suffers, also your metabolic system, your under-eye circles get bigger and won't necessarily dwindle once you do get some sleep, because as we all know you can't scientifically 'catch up' on sleep. What you've missed, you've missed forever.

2. You might as well get stretch marks

...and that's expected. Stretch marks are your battle scars. You might feel like you'll never have that perfect belly ever again...but who's to say what's perfect?

3. You might have some trouble in losing the weight afterwards

...and that's one of life's struggles you'll get through eventually. Losing weight is, for almost everyone, much harder than gaining it, and if you've never had to lose weight before, it might be easier for you, or maybe harder... But if you put your mind into it, you will do it. A plus in this category is that breastfeeding usually helps the woman lose weight quicker. A miracle, I know.

4. The STRESS that NEVER goes away

...and that's something you'll just have to live with. Stress is one of the hugest factors in premature ageing. A parent (a mother and/or a father) will stress all the time about their child - even when they're no longer a child. This is why the stress is ongoing and the more you stress the older you'll look. When your kid is going through those teenage years the stress levels will probably be the highest...so save your good moisturizer for then and pray it works its magic!
