My wife's affair with my friend?

Never thought I would be the one on here but here goes.

The guy was supposed to be my "best friend". For five or six years they had an affair (even in my own bed and my son's bed). I never caught them, she finally told me about it and said she loved me and would never do it again and will never see or talk to this man again, should I forgive her, and how can I ever get my trust back, and get this knife I feel is sticking in my back out? how long before the pain goes away, because I don't even want to live anymore, it hurts so bad.*
The guy's got an a** kicking when I see him, but should I trust her again?

I don't know. This is kind of a tough one. I mean it's bad enough she cheated but with your best friend. That's pretty nasty of her, and him. These two people are supposed to have your back
If she had cheated with some random guy that's hardly better but a little better, in my opinion. And if it were a one time thing maybe. If there was something lacking in your relationship at that time and it was a one time slip up I'd say TRY to move on with her.
The fact that she had a long term sexual relationship with your best friend seems like it's kind of a big f*ck you to your marriage. I don't see coming back from that. As long as you're with her you'll never trust her or trust her with your friends. That's no way to live your life and that's not a healthy relationship.
I can't say what's right for you but if I was in your position Id be leaving.

1st I would discover what my involvement was in this scenario. did I cause said cheat? was there something in my marriage I did to foster this behavior? could I have done better in my relationship? was there's areas of improvement in the compassion, intimacy level?
once those were established, I'd have to have an adult conversation with the person whom I said I do with for clarity and move from there. sometimes we, as humans are too hasty and give up when there are solutions to be had on both parts. truly compassion is key as well as taking care of yourself. best of luck 🙏💕

it's up to you of course but 5or6 years of cheating represents more than a mistake. it represents a decision. that compounded with the disrespect of not only doing it in your house and your bed but your child's bed makes this really really disgusting to me

i usually say try and give it a shot but 5+ years of infidelity and the disrespect they demonstrated in their action... man i don't think i could stomach or ever see her the same way
