Why are women so desperate to get married?

I dont get it.
if everything is so wonderful in the relationship, both make really good money, live in a pretty nice house or apartment, no debts, he pleases you and goes on dates and vacations with you, does his share of the house chores and cooks sometimes and the bedroom activities can't be any better, y'all be living likely even better than the average married couples, 50% of who get divorced anyway. why would a marriage be needed here if not for religious reasons? And what if you are both childfree?

Financial security usually, in my specific case an eventual marriage will happen because it will allow us to actually be together long term since its a cross country relationship we'd need some sort of formal recognition to make it a permanently real life one.

Because once they get married, the pretending ends. They can stop making themselves attractive and worrying about their weight. They can stop having sex. You've basically "bought the cow" and worrying about selling themselves to attract a guy ends. Also, the divorce insurance policy of getting alimony and child support is legally in place. Men lose and women cash out.

I can’t have sex before marriage - so there would be sex at all - which means no babies - which means no living together - which means double bills and chores and transportation costs.

Marriage is an awesome retirement plan for women. Marriage is a horrible deal for men however.
