Why do some people think that if they peacefully oppose gay marriage that it somehow exempts them from being called out for opposing gay marriage?

You can disagree with whatever you want, I don't care if people don't agree with gay marriage, I don't want to hear about it though and if you decide to tell me about it you bet your ass I won't stay quiet and laugh it off, I will call you out and I will argue with you. If we are friends? Then we are not anymore. Some people may think that's stupid but I would rather not be associated with anyone who thinks that me or my family members don't have the right to get married to the one the love if they so choose.

unfortunately your children will suffer the consequences when your relationship with the father comes and goes along with his support. Until it was redefined Marriage was the solution to this problem.
What we have now is an increasingly unstable and declining culture with an ever larger number of dysfunctional adults for lack of the required support as children.

@monorprise uh yes... People were forced into marriage, especially women with no way out because they would be killed, or shamed if they wanted to leave. Women relied on men for everything, especially their husbands they had no choice but to stay.

I for example do not recognize or offer any support to any "gay marriage" for 2 simple reasons:
1: As an institution it offers no benefit to anyone given it is defined on the basis of a "Feeling".
There is no rational reason for it to be monogamous nor is there any rational reason for anyone else to have anything to do with it. As it is for all practical proposes a mere friendship.

2: So defining Marriage based upon said mere feelings robs everyone of the vital family/child protection institution that was marriage. Thus supporting said definition really does real harm, the same harm you see done to everyone raised in a unstable single parent household. This is everything from greater rate of poverty, crime, depression, and achievements.

So yes very real people have been hurt by the broken and abandoned families as a result of this redefinition.

Frankly, this sounds like a completely manufactured idea. I have never heard of any people who peacefully oppose this or anything else who think by being peaceful they are exempt for criticism.

Althou one can hardly be excepted from criticism no matter what they do or think.

I presume "peacefully opposition" simply means you don't take up arms.

So for example I don't recognize any "gay marriage" as a legitimate union worthy of any more effort to support than any other kind of friendship. I do this for 2 practical reasons.
1: As a relationship defined on a "feeling" it is basically a mere friendship and offers no benefit to anyone outside of it. There is as such no rational reason for anyone to apply any kind of pressure to retain it against the wishes of either party nor is there any reason it should be monogamous.

2: As a relationship claiming the ancient name of "Marriage" it is in fact robing said institution of its ancient definition and thus protection for the children depended upon it.

Forcing all children into unstable households with no such protection growing up (or not being born at all) in an ever higher rate of homes broken for no other reason then the change in feelings of the adults.

Marriage as it is in modern times is only for gays. But that's the point of gay marriage. Marriage is supposed to be for the children but in fact it's only for gays, feminized men, and weirdos.
