What is the point of marriage?

As a man... it's not much more than showing you will destroy yourself for the woman.

As a woman... it could very well be a paid ticket to living the good life on easy street. Make a kid and you have a free ride for 18 years.

Prove me wrong. I live in the USA so it might be different in Mexico or something, but here... just move in with a guy you don't even fuck and you get to take half his shit. I'm just saying it's a not level playing feild.

Originally, it was meant to create a family. Meaning you would have a mother and father, and they would have kids together. And they would all stay together as a family unit.

Nowadays (last 60 years or so) it's different, and it's more related to romance.

I'm one of the ones who ascribes to the modern definition of marriage, because I personally don't believe you need to have children to be a family.
