if you are in a situation of a husbad and wife, would you divorce your husband or wife if his husband will get a dog and want a dog even his wife said to him already that i dont want a dog and i can't leave with a dog and if you choice the dog than me your wife and a child then we will just get a divorced coz we will just quarel and i will be miserable and she already said to her husband reasons why she doenst want a dog at all, and he still get a dog, what would you do if you are in situation

Hmm that's a tough situation man. If I was the husband I would try to compromise instead of just getting the dog anyway. Divorce seems like a big deal over a dog, you know? I'd talk to my wife again and really listen to why she doesn't want one. Maybe there's a small low maintenance dog we could try, or see if she warms up to the idea over time. Family is more important than any pet. But if she's really against it and I loved dogs that much, I'd feel bad making her unhappy in her own home. Well Damn, this is a super tough situation. If after talking it through with the wife again and really hearing all her valid reasons for not wanting a dog, but I still went ahead and got one anyway... I don't know man.

That would be some major disrespect to her and breach of trust. Family has to come first before anything. Even if I was dying for a pup, making the woman I love feel so disregarded in our home is not right.

If nothing could be compromised on and I ignored her boundaries after she laid it all out, I wouldn't blame her at all for seriously considering divorce at that point. I sure as hell wouldn't want to live with someone who didn't respect me like that either.

I think the best thing would be to accept that getting a dog isn't meant to be right now. As hard as that is. But losing my wife and family over a pet would be so much worse long run. I'd have to regretfully let the idea of owning one go for now.

All I can do is apologize sincerely, and promise her I hear everything she's saying from here on out. And maybe consider pet therapy or volunteering with dogs some other way to still get my puppy fix without putting my relationship at risk.

Family has to come first. No dog is worth that.

I can understand wanting a dog for companionship when feeling stressed, lonely or anxious. And I'm sure our kid would love to have a pup. But at the end of the day, my priority has to be my wife's happiness and comfort in our home.

Even if I think a dog could help with those things, it's not fair for me to decide that without my wife fully on board. Her reasons not to want one are valid - she knows her limits better than anyone. And this animal would be her responsibility too whether she likes it or not.

Maybe there are other options we could explore as a family that don't make her feel disregarded. We could volunteer with therapy dogs together, consider online counseling for my stress, or plan activities when you're home from work to help me feel less lonely.

I don't want to undermine our partnership by forcing a dog she's not good with. And if getting one risks upsetting her and causing quarrels regularly, that won't be good for any of us long term - including our kid.

My responsibility is making sure my wife feels heard, supported and at peace living under her own roof. A dog just isn't worth it if she's so against the idea, you know? Her needs have to come above my wants here as her husband. I'm willing to try other compromises as a team.

Well quite complicated situation I see
Husband doesn't want a dog just for fun.. who knows whether he really has some anxiety or stress issues which a pet dog can solve?
I had many veteran mates whose dogs helped thier PTSD

I would love to know the reason why wife doesn't want a dog and I think her reason should be prioritized if she has an allergy or something...
