1 yThis is a question I've been wondering.
My wife and I got married because she's still in the military (Still is past the 20 year mark), and without marriage, I don't get moved around with her on Gov. dime, free medical, and other benefits. The point is that we had reasons to do it. If we didn't, we would have become a LDR almost 20 years ago now and we all know how those work out most of the time.
But why are other people getting married? I'm sure a certain % of them had reasons like my relationship did, but what about the rest? There really seems to be a large % that just do it and then just break up... even when it's detrimental like getting stripped for cash, ending up alone with a child, or just cheating on each other. -->Something I notice about the latter group is they move fast. I was in living-together-status for years before the 'marriage' subject became an issue and again it was circumstances that pushed 'marriage' onto us. Why are they doing it though?
I have hunches... Simps simping out, or like you said just doing it for the title, or perhaps this is like the modern-day boyfriend-girlfriend exclusivity status maybe? (cheaters still gonna cheat) The Hollywood elite make marriage look like paid prostitution a lot.
So I don't really have the answer to your question... I'm just as confused about these people and the modern purpose of marriage as I'm sure many of us are. That's just my two cents on the subject, now I'm going to read other people's responses.

A bit too political, but I think it applies to marriage 21 Reply- 1 y

1 yMarriage is nothing but a glorious gala for the genitalia. It's a heavenly haven where the searing sensations of sensation are shared, exchanged and cherished. The pleasurable persian paradise pointer becomes even more pleasurable when it's shared in the sacred institution of matrimony.
The fabulous foreskin finagler finds solace in the security of wedlock, and the electrifying engorgement engine is spurred on by the sanctity of marriage vows. The spectacular scrotal serpent finds solace in the camaraderie of wedlock, and the magnificent masturbatory monster is indulged in the enigmatic entwining of marriage.
But I must caution you, for some the captivating curvilinear crankshaft is dulled by the demands of domesticity, and the enthralling epicentre of enjoyment is overshadowed by the mundanity of married life.
But in general, marriage is indeed a delightful dip into the depths of depravity, a celebration of the sensual and the sexy, an opportunity to embrace the endearing endowment that each of us hides beneath our mundane facades.
In short, marriage is just a fancy title for the fabulous festival of the funny retаrd's favorite instrument.
But, I must also add that marriage, like all great institutions, is also littered with its share of crap. It can be challenging, difficult, and, at times, even excremental. So if you're considering taking the plunge, brace yourself for the occasional bombast of bowel movements.
It's a carnival of cockmanship that deserves to be cherished and celebrated. It's not just about the title; it's about the tantalizing tug-of-war between the two tangled tushy tube twisters that it provides. So indulge in this immaculate institution, but remember, keep your fingers crossed and a roll of toilet paper handy. After all, marriage can sometimes be as messy as poop.

Well if they do it just for the title I guess there's another title that comes with it that's called divorce LOL
11 ReplyYes. It makes marriage is a once in a lifetime decision; the most important one of your life. You have to take it seriously. It's the ultimate pledge of honor, a sincere vow before witnesses. You are on official record. It signifies absolute commitment. That's why it should not be taken lightly.
Plus, it makes it less complicated to sign joint agreements like mortgages. There are tax and insurance benefits, automatic hospital visitation rights, social status, etc. You take pride in calling each other Mr. and Mrs, husband and wife, as opposed to "partner".
You provide stability and good example to your children and they are not considered to be born out of wedlock.
And there are consequences if you decide to break your pledge.02 Replythats literally so pointless tho
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yIn theory it's a binding long term commitment and a declaration to the world that you expect to be with your spouse until the end of days.
It is a very good vehicle within which to perform long term plans such as raising children and allows logistical and financial safe integration beyond that of two singles.
Unfortunately it is undermined and unsupported by modern society to the point where many people do not understand it's significance.11 Reply
1 yI thought for legal recognition because some things can only be like you know the eyes of the law for like inheritance or something about visitation or has that all changed when de facto coupled became a thing or whatever laws

00 ReplyThe only point is the tax write off. In America the tax right off isn't worth the Loss of almost all of your assets. This is why Americans are only marrying Asian woman
