there is legal marriage, there is romantic marriage, there is religious marriage, and there is spiritual marriage.

    - Legal marriage requires paperwork, and its a contract, giving people some benefits and some responsibilities.
    - Romantic marriage is about the emotional connection, seen as an ultimate display of love by many, and its about a lifestyle dedicated to each other as a whole
    - Religious marriage is done in a religious institution and accordance to the rites, rituals, and doctrines of a particular religion
    - Spiritual marriage is about the union of two people, and what that union and connection means and becomes beyond the material world, and how it transcends time and space

Spiritual marriage is the most difficult to understand, and most marriages are not spiritual. But in my opinion it's the most beautiful and meaningful of all.
A couple can be married in more than one of these ways. People who marry religiously usually also marry legally

Sure! I never thought about marriage this way and it helps widen my view on it. Did you come up with this (if you did, then damn, you're one of a kind) or learnt it from somewhere?

No it's more than just a piece of paper dear. It protects you from wasting your years on a boyfriend who will likely leave you after getting your pregnant and you would end up being another single mother who failed to get commitment (marriage) from a man. If you let a guy that's not even your fiance call you ''my beautiful wife'' and get your pregnant, you've been scammed big time because once he has everything for free, he isn't going to ever propose.

If you don't want kids then that's different. Make sure to use protection. Though since you're just 16, you can still change your mind later on in life.

Well this depends on the marriage for some people marriage is a deep bond that is between them and only them. While other times people marry for the wrong reasons and the marriage goes south.

A lot of marriages end in divorce, that’s for the lucky ones who are miserable together for the rest of their life here, and then there are some that are basically roommates. But not all marriages are like that.

Well it's both because it is just a piece of paper but

That piece of paper is a contract through God's eyes and states you are 50/50 no matter what goes on in your relationship you must love cherish and obey which I I don't believe in the obey word but it's a contract and with that contract you come in to this marriage together and when you leave if you have to leave it's 50/50 down the

But then now depending on why the contract was broken that 50/50 can go 20 80 you can go 75-25 it's just stating that the church had performed this wedding and God's involved

Me personally I don't need to have that paper and I don't need to have any contract I can go into things as me I can make things work and if the other partner does not want to make it work and we can go our separate ways

It's definitely more. As a Catholic it's a sacrament, very holy. It's called Holy Matrimony for a reason, that's were that comes from.

Its covenant by which a man and woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life and which is ordered by its nature to the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring, and which has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament between the baptized. That is how the church defines it.

The piece of paper and recognition from the government is less important than the married couple in question, the church and God.

Legally it’s a piece of paper but romantically, that can mean a lot to someone.
my husband and I got married because we really just wanted it to be the two of us. We got married in a religious ceremony as both our families wanted that. We only did the legal paperwork because it made it a lot easier for us to get the perks of being ‘a first time homebuyer’ and the extra little sprinkle sprinkle of benefits Canada offers couples. Plus he owns a lot of properly abroad and it makes it easier for us should anything happen.

Depends on laws. In some countries everything you earn while being married belong in 50% to your spouse. In most cases it's irrelevant but getting a multi million inheritance is better to get while not being married.

It's an offshoot of agricultural revolution, and having a society that's based on plantations.

Nowadays, it's society in its most atomic form.

It's not useless, but it contradicts with a lot of current social structures

because there have been studies that show married people tend to live longer and healthier lives than single people.

humans have evolved through millions of years to need each other. that is why all throughout history people have existed in tribes. Even homes tend to built next to each other.

single women happier only because they have less of a workload. But once they grow old, they will find themselves all alone with nobody to give a shit about her.

Meanwhile women with children, will be able to epxerience the joy of having a huge family who loves and worries for her very much.

you will be left all alone, eating frozen dinners, staring at an empty wall in a silent house for Christmas while she has her 6 grandchildren, daughter in laws, sons, daughter waiting for her to come home for Christmas dinner.

under a traditional culture, marriage is a foundation for the nuclear family unit

under a gynocentric culture, marriage is a communist trap that punishes traditionalism and weaponizes kids to be used as pawns for the state

Depend on who you are married to. Some treat marriage as a collecting event and marry 4 plus times

In event of a serious accident who can make decisions for that person, If your living together financial issues arise, getting home loans, car loans etc. I could go on and on and by the time your old enough to think about marriage you'll likely understand what I am talking about.

For the husband — provisions, protection, etc. For the wife — homemaking, child rearing, etc. Marriage is a social institution between a man and a woman, of course there are benefits.

I didn’t say 'stay-at-home wife,' I said 'homemaker.' As a wife, the financial burden has been lifted from you, and the husband is now responsible for providing. Marriage enables a man and woman to have intercourse with one another. Yes, you can have companionship without marriage, but you can also have companionship within marriage. Research suggests a better quality of life among married people.

okay, but its still basically impossible nowadays bc of the economy. people have sex all the time before marriage. so whats the point of companionship in marriage if u can have it without marriage? and that research is?

That would depend on where you are. It’s not the case where I’m from. People shouldn’t have sex before marriage; just because others do it doesn’t make it right. The type of companionship you have in marriage can lead to problems if it’s not within the bounds of marriage. You can read 'Happy, Healthy, and Wedded? How the Transition to Marriage Affects Mental and Physical Health'—it’s one of many studies on this topic.

I am from the Middle East. You're not going to die, but you're going to face a myriad of problems—issues like child support and custody, runaway fathers, single mothers struggling to care for their children, false child claims, false rape allegations, and more.

Protection doesn't always work. In cases where it doesn't, marriage would be the institution that allows for just rulings on child custody. It can, but that's because the child was conceived during the marriage. It's easy to falsely accuse someone of rape if you're having sex with someone before marriage. During marriage, false accusations have dire consequences for both the accuser and the accused. The bond of marriage prevents such accusations.

abortion is an option, and most of the time protection does work lol. how is it easier to accuse somebody if ur not married? that makes no sense? u can falsely accuse someone if ur married, unmarried or never even had sex. it really doesn't tho?

Abortion is murder, and murder shouldn't be an option. Forty-three percent of contraception attempts fail, which isn't a significant margin. As I mentioned, marriage is a relationship. If one spouse falsely accuses the other of rape, the accuser is likely to lose the benefits mentioned earlier.

That abortion is murder? According to the definition, murder is 'the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.' The couple should have the child and raise it like they would any other child. At worst, they should place the child in the care of responsible adults.

abortion is health care. its when u remove a fetus from a uterus. wdym with accusations? when did i say it was valid? im asking what happens when people who dont want kids become pregnant. it happens naturally bc of resentment. that would happen to me if i had a kid tbh lmao

Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. Notice the word 'termination.' That implies the foetus would have to be killed as a result or as a prerequisite. The definition holds, because it’s usually a person who performs the abortion. You’re accusing men of having mistresses. Now, you see, that’s the problem with you. If you had a child, you’d resent it and become abusive towards it. Don’t you think there’s something mentally wrong with you?
