What do you think about people living with their parents until they’re officially married?

I’m considering doing this in the future so after I graduate nursing school me and my future spouse can save money. Even if we’ll have enough I solely just think it’s the right thing for me to do. Especially since i’d rather not waste money on apartments.

Really depends on their involvement for me. If they are respectful of your individuality and aren't chiming in on every aspect of your relationship, it's not a problem.

I've met some who had horribly controlling parents that basically interrogate you before every date. Pass.

Take it from me, if you have a good home life with them, don't waste money on renting anything be it a house or an apartment. Save and buy a house. With the current economy, especially where I live, renting is an absolute sham now and basically costs a mortgage.

It was expected in the 50-s, and 60s. but almost exterminated in the late 60s and 70s as social mores changed. The object was virginity and parental control. You doing what is respectable in their eyes. When does it end? When you are 40 and live hundreds of mile away? . At the age of seventy I can appreciate what my

Yikes i’m sorry I couldn’t imagine living alone. All that money having to be paid by myself would make me mad even if i can afford it lol but anyway most people move out when they’re going to college. Im living with my friend until then & when I get proposed to I think it would be weird to still be on a lease or in a dorm LOL. So to me it’s better save a little more for a month or two at my parents house & move in a nice house.

Makes sense to me if you plan on getting married in fairly short order. I'm 30, so if I was still living at home that'd be goofy. If you're 21 though makes sense to me.
