I know lot women who married very popular guys but none of those girls viewed their guy as prime dating material, their competition did, but not the girls that married them.

Most dating coaches say, if you chase a guy you put on a pedestal and you get him, you will end up abused, dumped or used.

You have to acknowledge the normal flaws and limitations of your partner, if you worship him, you will never get him, and if you do get him, he will abuse you.

Girl who gets the guy is the girl who is attractive to that guy (depends on what he likes).

Some guys like physical appearance, others like personality, or fashion style, or some other features related to the girl.

You should attract a person by being you. Not by needing the other person.

A negative outcome from people isn't gender-based. The negative outcome comes from you idealising the person so much that you become blind to negative traits that had always been there. Putting the person on the pedestal doesn't cause the problems, you simply ignored what was going to happen.

You should always see the real person for who they are and understand they are flawed one way or another. You just have to decide whose flaws aren't a deal breaker for a relationship and if you are compatible, your relationship should flourish despite the flaws apparent to each other.
