What’s up with the white rice?

So given my age you would think I should already know this but I don’t and I have a feeling that after I ask I still won’t know. But here it go’s when a couple decides to get married, why do they throw rice at them when they come out of the church?

This is the first time I've heard about it. Let me tell you about another white rice ritual. In india, when the bride steps into her husband's home for the first time, she spills a urn of white rice with her right foot at the entrance before stepping inside.

You'd have to tell me. It's the blandest food I can think of. Mixes well with other things when you need some sort of carbs or filler to make the food go further.

As for that old school throwing rice at a wedding stuff... just call them retards and somehow that makes a lot of shit people do make a whole lot more sense. It covers most of the human behaviors that make no sense... they're retards.

This was one medieval tradition. However it wasn't rice but silver coins that young couple tossed on gathered crowd as sign of wealth. Poor couples used wheat instead of silver coins. Somehow wheat turned into rice.
