I don't understand the concept of marriage anyways to me it's just a man-made trap doesn't elevate the bond you already have with a person. You are just letting the government become a third party into your relationship by signing those documents

But it would marry a woman... I would feel disrespected if she doesn't want to accept the rules of marriage being that she is taking on my surname.

It feels like you want the female perks of being married without taking in the cons of being married.

But perhaps I'm wrong...

Of course not.

A woman taking her husband's surname when getting married is one of the few remaining benefits of marriage for men. The institution of marriage is already on the rocks. I would suggest not making it even worse by removing that benefit.

I know two guys who did. One wanted to spice up his extremely common surname, the other had one of the most unfortunate surnames any person, but especially a guy, could have.

Assuming I did not like my surname and did like hers, yes. However, my surname isn't weird and I do like it, so no.

We had discussed using a double barreled name for our family, so me and OH would both change our name. but he seems to have changed her mind. Pushing me to change mine. I'm not happy
