Best laptop for a Biochemistry Student?

I'm look for something light weight and sleek. I want to used it for a long time so it has to be dependable. I'm going into my first year of college soo nothing incredibly expensive ^_^

What does a biochemistry student need? Just Google Drive and Microsoft Office type stuff, web browsing, or running multiple programs, or what?

Macbook pro if you can afford it, if not a macbook air. PCs are great if you game, but school wise nothing compares to macs. Their long battery life is just so good for school

I was also a biochem major and for us, we only used basic office (like Word & Excel for lab reports) and other graphing software (like KaleidaGraph).

Any laptop would be fine but I'd stick to the two main operating systems -- Mac OS or Windows -- just in case.

Oh and for those who get really involved, publish research papers and stuff, they might also use "LaTeX."

unless you need a specialty program made specifically for biochemistry, you could probably get away with a Chromebook. They're light and range from $150 to $300.
