I feel guilty about throwing away the gift my ex gave me.. I don't know what to do?

i had been in a relationship for almost 2 years now...my ex gave me a bracelet in the beginning of the relationship..so we had broken up a month ago and I just wanted him to have his gift back as because I am leaving the country and I just wanted to say goodbye ...so I met him yesterday to say goodbye one last time and gave him his gift back he was like toss it or keep it because I am not taking it back ..so I almost kept it and then he drove away and by seeing that it p*ssed me off and I threw out the gift in the park..i really feel guilty I wish I didn't do that! I just wanted him to have it because it was kinda expensive...i really wish I didn't do that!

i don't know what to do this guilt is killing me inside! please help! also I asked him if he picked it back he said he didn't see me throw it away and that I should not message or contact him ever..i feel so bad!:(

You have to accept what you did, and realize its in the past now and you can never take back the action of throwing the bracelet away. Guilt is a bitch, but it at least means that you have a conscience. I sometimes think of things I did years ago and I get a stab of guilt, but for the most part, time will get rid of the guilty feeling.

However, in the meantime to feel better about yourself, do some good for others! It won't change what happened, but it may just brighten your day a little.
