My dad slapped me...thoughts?

I never really swear, only when I'm really p*ssed And I picked the WORST time to say Fuck for the 1st time.

My dad was yelling at me for something and I said right in his face "I don't give a f***!" and he slapped across my face.

I'm really angry because I NEVER thought he would do that to me but also, I can't believe I said that.

Do you think he should have slapped me?

What would your father do?

I come from a Catholic Italian background and there is a lot of emphasis on respect for parents.

Also my dad comes from the 'olden days' and if he were to say that to his dad he would smack him into next year. So in a way I get it, I'm just pisd

That was a loss of control, and it was wrong of him to do it. He should appologize as soon as he calms down, vulgar language is not an excuse for hitting someone.

It doesn't matter who someone is, you get respect only when you give it.

Here's an alternitive: Never forgive him. For as long as you live, or until he appologizes, never do another thing for him.

Great idea in theory but I live in his house, he pays for my food, clothes, living expenses, private education so I need him more than he needs me.
