Are cuff links a good gift?

How many of you would like receiving a cool pair of cuff links for Christmas? How would you feel about getting it as a gift? Guys obviously/

I think it depends on the guy. If he wears cuff links often (or wears clothing that he could wear cuff links with often), then I think it might be a good idea. If he's a t-shirt and jeans kind of guy, then it might come across as a "you don't really know me" or "you just bought me something generic that I'll never use" kind of gift.

My boyfriend doesn't dress up all that often, but I've toyed with the idea of buying him these: link because I know he'd love them, even if he was only able to wear them occasionally .

If he's a successful businessman that loves a good suit- that's a great gift.

Otherwise, bad gift.

I think that would be great, or course, I am a big proponent of dressing to the nines (when the situation calls for it, or course). If your guy attends formal events with any regularity, it would probably be a much appreciated gift.
